Matt Farah: What's up guys, I am Matt Farah from Garage419.com and today on FLDetours we are driving the 2009 BMW 750 IL Sport, a car with so many feature their surely isn't room to tell you about all of them here, but I am going to try, so let's go.
The interior of the new 750 is really wonderful place to be and I am not exaggerating for sake of exaggerating. Right now at this moment I have got heated seats and cold seats turned on the same time and I am getting a butt massage. Not only that Tommy the cameraman, he is getting the butt massage, JF in the back he is getting the butt massage too and the more I mess up my lines the longer their butt massage is last it is fantastic, I love it.
How does it drive? It is a 7 series, it drives great, it's the ultimate driving machine when it comes to flagship luxury cars. You know Lexus -- you expect it to be dead silent and float like a butterfly, here in this you get a surge of power form a 4.4 liter twin turbo V8 when you step on the gas. How fast to do 60, about 5 seconds which for a 4000 plus pound car is no small feed, but it pulls with such smooth power delivery that you don't even realize the engine's turbo charge it's only there is lag like an Evo or something.
Driving it you can tell there is a lot of electronics going on, you can tell that there is active steering, you can tell that there is active braking, active suspension diagram, in fact everything in this car is active. With a car like this you want to be relaxed on your way to in from work because odds are, you have a lot more important things to do with your day, than worry about your commute, you want maximum comfort and that's why this car has features like auto hold, which believe it or not, this really does this and I am not making this up.
When you come to a complete stop with auto hold, you don't have to keep your foot on the brake, the car will just stay stop until you hit the gas again, it's pretty cool. So if you are sitting in stop and go traffic or lot of red lights, you don't have to stand with your foot on the brake. Pretty cool also if you are going be sitting in traveling for commute you have got adaptive cruise control, it works on a radar of the front bumper.
You can actually set it at 65 and then let's say traffic comes through a stand still that cruise control will slow the car down all the way to a stop, all the way back up to speed or anywhere in between depending on traffic conditions without you having to touch the gas or the brake. Let's say you are too lazy to look down gauges for instance, no problem the heads up display projects key information right on to the windshield right in front on you.
You can have some really new trick features that weren't on previous 7 series like for instance, four wheel active steering which at under 38 miles an hour, the rear wheel counter steer upto 3 degrees for better turning radius in parking lots and another tight spots. At over 50 miles an hour the rear wheel steer the same direction as the front wheels which reduces lowering of all four tires, improves high speed handling and gives the feeling that the car actually can perform way beyond its weight.
The 750 also comes with front bumper mount in wide angle cameras that actually active periscopes help you see around objects that may block your direct vision. For instance if I look to my left I cant see around the red Toyota Matrix or any cars that may be coming, but if I -- in short, I have a camera that looks left for me, so even though my vision is blocked here the camera can see pretty clearly, the traffic is clear and I can pull out.
The last generation 7 series introduced us to the concept of iDrive one knob controlling all the function of a vehicle which certainly a great idea at the time, but time also told us that it didn't work as well in practice. The new generation of iDrive though solves a lot of those problems. It's lot easier to use because it has hot buttons that take you quickly to specific functions like navigation, your CD changer, your iPod also your air conditioning and heating functions are on the dash now. So you don't have to menu surf to adjust the temperature a couple degrees.
Speaker: We generated so much air force and down force that it burned the paint on the edge of the square, may like the pin strike, it was really wild.
Matt Farah: That's crazy, Garage419.com, be there. You know what I want to relax for a minute, I am pulling over, Jay you drive I am hopping in the back, I am going to put a pull over in front of this big mansion here. Oh! Four wheel active steering. Hopping in the back time for massage. The back seat of 750I L even that in the front I have got four zone climate control, independent audio controls, two cigarette lighters, I don't even know why you would want that, I have got this amazing automatic window shades that come up and cover, see only right in here and it comes at a price, what is that price of these features in this car add $27000 to the price of the base 750.
Take a look at this, here is the window sticker for our car. Look how full this is have you ever seen a bigger list of options on a paper look, we have got convenience package 1700, driver assistance package 1350, luxury seating package 2500, luxury rear seating package 3500, premium sound 2000, sport package 4900, instrument paddle with leather 1200, active cruise control 2400 night vision 2600, heads up display 1300 and that's not even everything. $27000 worth of options this car has and they told me at BMW that you can add more so the point where list goes off the page, that is how many options are available on this car.
It's a lot of coin, lot of coin indeed, but look at this way. This car right here as it seats is really just as luxurious as a MayBach 57 and it's about 200000 less than the price of that. Some people might call that value. $111000 is a lot of money to spend by anyone standard, on the other hand you get a sporting car built by drivers, but equally comfortable for the back seat passengers and if you can afford this kind of luxury, pick one up, money back here.
Speaker: This week on WEPCTV.
Speaker1: What if you race like FBRs identity, so it's like there was a president here and
Speaker2: And it has the President's photo with the question mark, just the cartoon.
Speaker3: If I could have race anybody, anybody's identity anyone, it would rather be Katy Perry or the Fred guy from Youtube.
Speaker: WEPCTV is brought to by Asus and Intel, you dream it Asus builds it, Intel inside.

Who makes the best handling performance sport utility vehicle on the planet? Is it Porsche\'s Cayenne, or perhaps the Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG? Is it Audi\'s Q7 with the upgraded S-line performance suspension, or Jeep\'s incredible Grand Cherokee SRT8? Whoever is currently claiming this title had better watch out, because it\'s unlikely to be theirs for much longer. Although BMW\'s sole purpose for bringing out their latest offering probably wasn\'t to dethrone whichever one is currently at the top of t...

The most obvious difference between this conceptual 2009 7 Series and the current version is the shape of the rear end. Forget the old Bangle Butt, as it was so callously called, this 7\'s tail section will have a much smoother design that better integrates into the car\'s overall lines. Although the face of the \'09 7 Series does not look dramatically different from that of the \'06 model, it appears that BMW will likely replace the current semi-rectangular headlamps with a more elliptically shaped...
