2010 Land Rover LR4 Review Miranda Lightstone: Celebrating its 48th Anniversary, Land Rover is still the leader in luxury SUVs, Hi! I'm Miranda Lightstone with Watchmojo.com, and today we’re going to explore the Land Rover brand and take a ride in the LR4. Could you tell me a bit about the history of Land Rover and where it's been and where it's going? Rolando Avendado: They’re accredited for being the creators of the luxury SUV, in the introduction of the Range Rover in 1970, so you’ve got a truck that is very powerful, they can go through any terrain, and they’ve done them all whether you’re looking at the Amazon rainforest, Sahara desert or even the Antarctic, any terrain that exist, they’ve been there. Miranda Lightstone: So can you tell us a bit about the LR4 and just talk a little bit about what it features and what it has to offer. Rolando Avendado: It's the one that has the ability to add a seven-passenger configuration, like all the Land Rovers you’re looking at four- corner independent suspension. So it's a very smooth ride, different axis heights, so they can actually go from an axis level to a mid- level to a very high suspension, for when you really going off- road. The V8 engine and this is actually very efficient compared to the even the V6 of a couple of years ago. The LR4s is probably our most popular model this year. Miranda Lightstone: So do you think we can get a rid on the LR4? Rolando Avendado: Of course. Miranda Lightstone: Land Rovers are always synonymous of off-road capability and really handling any terrain, they’re so high up and over everybody, but no matter where you are, you’re going to have great visibility. Obviously they’ve also become known for their luxury and high- end accessories, and really upper class feel, to drive a Land Rover is to have made it. But along with their luxurious bits and pieces, Land Rovers has also managed to make a vehicle can actually handle, going off- road. But it's very rare in SUVs now a days, you can buy yourself a 4 by 4 vehicle, but try and take it in the woods or on the mud and just going to stall out and isn't going to work for you. Take a Land Rover off-road, put it in mud, put it in gravel, put it in sand and it's going to handle every single terrain with ease. If you do choose to take your Land Rover off-road, you have five different settings to choose from for the suspension and drivetrain. Special programs off or normal, grass, gravel, snow, mud-rats, sand and rock-crawl. Driving a Land Rover makes you feel pretty regal and above everybody else on the road, and you pretty well should feel like that. Because if your in a Land Rover, you’re in vehicle that’s not only technologically advance but, pretty high- end in the design scope too.
