Hi, I’m Franklin Taggart. I’m a guitar player and a guitar teacher. I’ve played the guitar now for over 30 years. Today, I’d like to show you the parts of an acoustic guitar and the parts of an electric guitar and I’m also going to show you how to use an electronic tuner to tune your guitar. In addition, we’re going to learn a couple of techniques to tune a guitar if you don't happen to have an electronic tuner. So, you’re going to need to have a guitar. You’re going to need to have a pick, if you play with a pick. You’re also going to need to have a tuner. That’s all you’re going to need to get started. So, here we go. Let’s get started. The parts of the guitar have similar name to the parts of the human body. This end of the guitar, we’ve got the head. On the sides of head, we have tuning keys. The slung part right here is called the neck. On the front of the neck, we've got a small plastic piece that the strings cross right here, it’s called the nut. And these wires and spaces that go across the front of the neck are called frets and that is called the fret board. This is the body of the guitar. In the body of the guitar, the top of the body has a sound hole in it and also a bridge piece. In the bridge piece, there are the string pegs and a small plastic piece that goes into the bridge piece that the strings cross called the bridge. Those are the parts of the acoustic Guitar. Now, we’re going to be looking at an electric guitar to see which parts are on the electric.
