Adobe Photoshop Lightroom - How to Develop a Module

Now you'll notice they may seem little dark on your screen right now. What I will do is pick a typical one, like this last shot here, make a few minor adjustments, and then synchronize the rest of them. So I'll come down here, open up the Exposure a little bit, maybe do a little Recovery of the highlights. Open up the Fill Light, adjust the Blacks, zoom in here as I get to these other adjustments, and I will say, oh, I can do a little Sharpening around the eyes. So I'll slide down here to the newest feature, the Sharpening now is just fantastic. They brought Luminance sharpening over from Photoshop in a big way. I'll hold down the Option or Alt key. I will go ahead, and I am able to adjust my Sharpening Amount. The Radius. The amount of Detail I want to conserve. How much do I want of the effect? That much? No, that was too much. And look at this, I get the Masking. I can actually tell light room whatever is to affect not to affect. Can you imagine this when you're retouching a face and you can leave the skin out, but only retouch the eyebrows and the eyes. Okay, zoom back out. And I can go ahead and grab the other Photos that are similar by Shift+clicking, and then come over and basically synchronize all those settings. You have a choice for a lot of different things. I did everything but crops, and I am going to go ahead and synchronize those. You will notice that thumbnails have started to open up a little bit. Now I can go back, and do my individual adjustments. So let's pick this one which obviously needs to be opened up a little bit more than the others, and so let's just click off of them. Go ahead and solo that one. Come back up into our develop module, and open up the Exposure just a little bit more. Add a little more Fill Light. Zoom in here, get an idea, okay, obviously we have got a little noise problem. It was dark up there, and I am shooting with ISO 320, which I almost never do. Okay, so let's up the Noise Reduction just a little bit. See if we can get rid of just a little bit of that grain. Those are great job just like that. Okay, let's zoom back out. Take a look at it. Think I want to Crop this one for effects, so I'll use the cropping tool. Make sure my Aspect ratio and my lock are set. Just bring this down a little bit for Effect. Notice how you get that ruler threads reinforced for you. Let's bring this one in realtime, get some effect. Okay, click off that. Back on loop view, tells me that I want to bring in my tones a little bit more, may be Recover some of the highlights. Ah, there we go. That's coming down. Here's a little trick that I use quite a bit. The Vignette tool down here at the bottom of the panel list, for those of you for correcting for less expensive lenses, but I found a creative way to go ahead and use it to burn down the corners, and bring emphasis to the center of your picture. Because now I have to open up a little more. Fill Light tool, and we are good to go. Now I might want to go ahead and check these other photographs, and see if anymore of them can benefit from that same effect. So if I come back here, take that, Shift+Click on the rest of my photos, sync again and making sure that I do not have the cropping set, because I was pretty individual for that photo, I can go ahead and scroll through these, and see how much that helped, okay. At this point I would go and do my individual work on the images. Cropping, spotting, opening up different things. So I am going to go do that, I will be back in a minute.
