Transcript
My name is Roger Bennett Riggle and I am on the faculty here at the Berrend Dance Center and with me to demonstrate some jazz moves for you is one of my senior dancers here at the studio, this is Mackenzie Royce (ph). The first thing we are going to show you is how to do an Aerobesque properly and the Aerobesque is going to be in the jazz dance segment that we are going to show you. So Mackenzie is going to take the bar and her arm will go into second position which is a forward position and she makes sure that the sternum or the breast bone is very much up and lifted, so you almost think more of the breast bone than you do the chin, that you are lifting the breast bone. As her leg goes into Aerobesque which is a full extension of the leg, you can see that it takes a great deal of training and muscular control in this small of the back and the buttocks to be able to hold that leg up properly and the leg is turned out, meaning that it is twisted and turned out so that there is one level line that the audience actually sees in the leg. This is Aerobesque on a flat foot and this is Aerobesque in releve, which releve means to go up on to your toes. And coming up next, we will demonstrate for you how to do Attitude.
