Male Speaker: Hey! Everybody, Welcome to the Bangkok episode of Bizarre Foods top five video count down. Coming in at number five, I am going to have to say it was the Pork Brian Soup. Hey! Awun come here. What was the name of the place where we had the Pork Brian Soup. Female Speaker: Plan Fo Tan. Male Speaker: Plan Fo Tan! You know a grand mother standing by her soup kettle, dispensing out bowls of soup where everybody shows up basically for one dish. I am going to have to say number four was the Khlong Toei Market. It's awesome. Gritty, visceral it is as down toward and authentic as just about any market we have ever been to. Now I like frog. This is the old cold tog. Number three has got to be the street alley whatever it is that we are on right now. We have probably spent three hours here and gone about a hundred feet. We are in China town in Bangkok and this guy is slicing Rose duck in, tossing little thin egg noodles. Does this Alley have a name? Female speaker: Ya. It's called Guan Yu which is the shrine over there. Male Speaker: Oh! Right by the shrine. This is the real deal. You come here. You eat your way down the street and my favorite two experiences have got be a numbers one and two and they are separated by microns. I am going to have to go number two as Bo lan. Bo lan is an incredible, incredible restaurant. David Thompson who is an amazing Thai chef has a restaurant in London and - were two line cooks that fell in love at Thompson's restaurant in London and came here to Bangkok and opened up their own place and they cook from the heart and soul. Their version of Thai food belong from fermented rice dish that we had and the nam, the fermented pork dish that we had that's uncooked just pork and salt and it comes out like fermented spoiled meat loaf, were two of the best things that I have tasted in a long time. This is dangerous food. Top five video count down number one, I wanted to eat at a Jok's restaurant for as long as have I known about it. He is got two tables. It is a five-six month wait to get in. I just spent three hours cooking with him in the kitchen, hanging out with him, eating eight-nine course meal that he prepared himself. Not many other people do. It's one of those truly great and unique experiences. When you are in Bangkok, find your way to back Alleys like this. Just wander around Bangkok's Chinatown. It's totally doabe and totally safe. You are going to have a blast and make Bangkok one of your regular stops. It's one of my favorite cities. It should be yours.
