Auria Headphones for Runners

Correspondent: Alright we’re are here at the Aria booth and Dave you are the inventor so take us back a little bit what made you decide that there wsa a need for a new type of headset? Dave: I have been running since early teens in high school and I gradually realized that there were multiple needs as a runner that weren’t being met for your phones. The first and foremost was earphones fall out. Correspondent: Right. Dave: The second was they don’t feel comfortable when you had them in your ears. Most people complain somewhere between 20 and 30 minutes. Not a comfortable thing. Number 3 is because of the small size the earphones because the technology was used the earphones actually do not have by in large great audio so I wanted to have earphones that have great audio and the 4th one was that when the goal of the earphones was to block out all sound exactly not safe for runners to use particularly in cities and in any environment where they could come in contact with another vehicle, any other obstacle. So I wanted to enable runners with earphones so they could actually speak to their training partners or people that are in their running groups. So 2 years ago we started this company with a goal to try to develop technology that would solve all 4 of those issues and that was really the genesis why this company was started. Correspondent: And as somebody who usually wears a hat to keep my headphones in it makes a huge, you have different sizes as well right to fit different ears? Dave: Yes correct. The system that was developed here was is a combination of small little soft members that took about 2 years to design these are designed ergonomically. I’ll pop one in one of my ears you can see how this works but here slip it in and sit down on the very soft portions of your ear called the tragus here. They are very soft pliable you can first you’re going to feel that and they cut just like this you rotate them down to feel comfortable. Now most people tell us that they can barely feel these well that was all the ergonomic magic that we took so long to develop so that their curb and there’s one for left one for right they could rotate them down so they just feel comfortable for you and as you mentioned they other part of this is there are little rings at the bottom they pop off and there are multiple sizes of these for them come with it with the product itself and you just pop on the one until it feels like it fits your particular ear style. Now one of the things we found is particularly interesting is women and young teenage girls a lot of them very, very small ears. They couldn’t fit in the normal stock earphones that come with music players nor can they fit in a lot of the ones that are off the market so we designed this system so they can feel very comfortable. We already at this show had 3 people that walked up that challenged us. I know your phones fit in my ear and of course we’re able to fit them so to me that validates what we try to do and the whole design process said we can fit your ears. Now maybe they only fit 80 or 90% on the market. We won’t fit everybody but it’s a huge improvement. A huge improvement over what’s going to develop in the market and the audio took about also about 2 years to develop is audio technology is far superior to anything in the price points we’re talking about for the dollar so there’s a big value there in terms of audio performance. Correspondent: Okay price point and where people can get the product? Dave: Okay price points 19.95, 29.95, and 39.95 for the retail price one and what we’ll say is also on the upper 2 price points I just mentioned 1 other item we can show it right here it comes with an inline control an inline control is completely compatible with all of the apple iPod functions including iPhones so it has a slide control to it. It has a function button so you can advance tracks you can pause, you can take tracks back and it has a microphone so as they fully functional head set that’s compatible with iPhone and with blackberries also, you can use a headset with all blackberries in iPhones.
