Ahmed: You don’t need the help, huh? Male 2: No, no. Female: No. Male: Apparently not everyone wants a free backyard make-over. Female 2: Not right now. Male: But new homeowner, Melissa and her boy friend, Tyler decided to go for it letting Ahmed over to check out her yard and chock up a plan. Ahmed: This is madness. Male: So yesterday Ahmed and his crew tore out part of Melissa’s backyard and began putting in an outdoor living room. Laying a patio foundation and setting posts for windows, a door and strings of hanging lights. Now it’s the morning of day two and they’ve got till sundown to finish this crash out. Ahmed: So we’re all feeling good this morning? Males: Yeah. Females: Yeah. Ahmed: And have a new day? Nice to see we got some new friends. Now Loreta, you got these windows to put up, right? Loreta: Yeah, the windows. Ahmed: The window walls. And you got benches to build. Jim: I got to build benches. Ahmed: All right. David and I back on the pavers and then we everybody else in with the pavers with us and we might get this yard done. All right? Females: Might. Males: Might. Ahmed: Let’s get to work, come on. Male: While team paver patio continues at a slow yet steady pace, Jim is ready to start building some benches made from the lumber that got dropped off yesterday. Jim: All right Tyler, what we’re going to do now is we’re going to build some benches for you guys to sit on. Tyler: Cool. Jim: What we’re using here is Brazilian hardware. And before we can put screws in this hardwood we have to pre-drill it and counter sink it. If we don’t pre-drill, we can’t get screws through it. This stuff is so hard that you can’t screw through it. When this drill bit goes through it actually counter sinks at the same time. We got all these predrilled now what we’re going to do is we’re going to make our ends for our bench. So we’ve got our 4 X 4s and they’re cut to the right height. I’m going to take stainless steel screws. They’re painted brown on top to match the wood and when you just drive these straight in using the drill and a square drive bit. Tyler: All right, Jim. Jim: All right. What we’re going to do is since we’ve already got the 4 X 4s on our in caps. Tyler: Yup. Jim: We’re going to go ahead and now use those to tie in our face boards of our box. Tyler: Okay. Jim: Go ahead, drive her home. Male: In a couple of days this back yard has come to like with a unique paver patio, a hanging door, exotic benches and jungle-like plants used together to create an outdoor living room. But it’s not quite ready yet. So this team gears up to tackle the last few details of this yard crash starting with hanging Melissa’s windows. Female: Now we’re going to go and get the weights and hang the weights in the bottom. What do you think? Female2: I think it looks amazing. Female: Hey that’s my line. Jim: Right now what we’re doing is we’re installing the eyebolts between our 4 X 6s to string our cable so once we get the cable in and get it tight then we’re going get string lights on it for outdoor lighting. Ahmed: So you’re ready for this? Female: Yes, let’s do it. Ahmed: Are these gorgeous or what? Look at that. Female: I really like these. Ahmed: It’s like a jumbo Christmas lights, huh? We’re going to run it up, we’re going to come across, diagonally, maybe four feet and then we’ll go over there diagonally, over here diagonally, back and forth and back and forth. Female: The further it’s now real entertaining space in the backyard, not overgrown but just kind of left to itself and now we’ve got a whole patio that we kind of hang out on. The house is really small and we have a huge outdoor area now that’s lit with some seating. It’s basically a second living room. Ahmed: The benches are awesome. Jim: And Tyler helped build these things. Tyler: I made them. Melissa: I love it. Ahmed: I mean, this is how we’re suppose to do it. And you, were simply— Melissa: Amazing. Ahmed: Amazing. Cross your finger we’ll celebrate and you guys stay here and celebrate. We’ll lock you guys in, okay?
