Guest: 50% of these people that get bladder cancer is because of smoking. Host: Are you kidding me? Guest: Yes. Host: You smoke upstairs and get a problem downstairs. Guest: Correct. So, that's another reason that you got to give up your cigarette. Host: If you stop smoking, does it reduce your risk? Guest: It reduces your risk. So what I tell my patients is, whenever they smoke, they will get cancer of the bladder. It's just a matter of when they are going to get it. 50% of these people, they will get the cancer of the bladder, fairly aggressive ones have the history of smoking. Host: What's the youngest age, you ever heard of anybody getting cancer? Guest: About 17. Host: And then it goes out to any age? Guest: It goes to any age. Host: Was that 17-year-old a smoker? Guest: No, there was no risk factor. He had a low grade, he still had -- Host: The person is okay today? Guest: Yeah, the person is okay today, thank God! Now, 25% of these people have a history of exposure to chemicals. Host: What kind of chemicals? Guest: Anyone that has to do with Beta-Naphtholamines, benzenes, gasolines -- Host: People working in a gas station? Guest: Sulfate, aniline dyes. Another 25%, you ask me whether or not this is prevalent in women or men, 25% of these people are hair dressers, that work with the chemicals that you dye the hair, those hair dyes are very carcinogenic. Host: What about exterminators? Guest: Exterminators, I don't know about them. It sounds most probably that it also is a risk factor. Host: How about those working in chemical plant? Guest: Chemical plant, yes because this seemed to initially happen with people that used to work in the new plant factory and those people got psychologies every 3-6 months, whenever they were positive, they had cystectomies and they had cancer of the bladder. Host: So, the company did the right thing. Guest: Yeah. Host: Because they heard about it, they were considered about it? Guest: Correct. Host: Thank God!
