Brooke Burke on Living with Melasma Brooke Burke: Because watching your tape just really hit home with me, and this is something that I haven’t really addressed publicly because I can totally relate to how you feel. For nine years, I've had melasma from my pregnancies on different parts of my face. I had it on my lip. I've had it all over. I actually have a really severe case right now, that I have so much melasma. That I have more pigmentation and you’re looking at me right now going yeah right. I have mastered the art of covering it, so I know the struggles that you go through. I actually want to show you guys. I’m going to take my make-up off, so you can see what I’m dealing with. And I know how you feel. I don’t wear a lot of base or makeup either as a busy mom staying home with my kids, but when I’m working, I had to figure out how to hide it. And I also can’t get any sun exposure whatsoever on my face. And I’m the girl that likes to be out on the sun. But I’m going to show after I take off about five layers of makeup here, but I have to deal with it on a daily basis as well. And it’s such a tricky condition to treat, but if you can see I have you see this black here. I have a black here. If I were to take all of my makeup off and honestly this is layers and layers. It’s just like what you’re talking about. If I go out on the sun, I get black spots here. My entire cheek turns black. I keep a 50 sunscreen in my car. I put my sun visor down. I don’t let the reflection either from my dashboard expose my face because they get black, so I have been dealing with a lot of different issues as well trying to figure out how do I cover this out. This is all part of it. This is a part of the territory but what do you do? So we have an opportunity that we actually want to offer to you. How would you like to go with me and go get this problem treated and taken care of and you and I can go and do that together. Female: I would go. Brooke Burke: That would be amazing. We’re actually going to go and have a consultation and see if we can figure this out because there are a lot of options, but it’s something that I think if you learn how to maintain it and if we treat it. And you really baby your skin a little bit, I think that we can make this easier a lot. Dr. Drew Ordon: Similar to what we just show the laser technology is there. Brooke Burke: Great well, I’m up for it if you are. Female: Thank you. I appreciate that. Brooke Burke: You’re welcome. We’ll do it together. Dr. Lisa Masterson: And thank you for sharing. Dr. Travis Stork: Thank you girls. Brooke Burke: There are so many women who are going through that so I know how you feel.
