Transcript
Why did you come to Light and Night? I am here with the Light the Night because it's my six year remission from acute myeloid leukemia. How were you diagnosed? I had mononucleosis and it ended up kind of going into full blown leukemia after about a year. It's related to Epstein-Barr virus; some of the cancers are found out, they have it from Epstein-Barr virus mutation. Why is this event important to you? Because I still want to remember that it was a part of my life that was life changing and for a good way. I am now a nurse and I help people, not with cancer but with other things that because cancer is a little close to home, but I help with transplants and I think it's one of the things that being empathetic towards patients because I have been a patient, that makes a difference. And I still want people to know that there is not as many survivors as they are going to be.
