Laurie Zephyrin: Hi Dani and Andrew, sudden infant death syndrome also known as quick death, is some is one of the major causes of infant mortality and children 1 month to 1 year old in the United States. Typically the causes are really unknown there is some biological mechanism which I theorized, there is there are many risk factors including a womens age less than 20. Smoking is a big risk factor that’s preventable also a baby sleeping on a soft surface or sleeping prone or face down, some of the ways to prevent it most importantly is do not smoke. Second is really to go and get your parental care and then another major campaign which is the backed to sleep campaign is to have your baby sleep on its back as supposed to its front.
