Change Your Desktop Wallpaper

Windows comes with a default desktop wallpaper. In Windows XP it was the green fields and a partly cloudy blue sky. In Vista it was something glassy. Fortunately, Windows also comes with other wallpaper and you can find or make your own.

Hi this is Mike Callahan, Dr. File Finder. Welcome to your butterscotch.com tutorial on changing your desktop your wallpaper in Windows. Now you see here I’m on my Windows X P desktop with the green fields and partly cloudy skies any place on that desktop just right click move down to select properties, this box comes up, it always comes up over there. I’ll move it over here; we’ll click on the desktop tab. Now, here you can see on the center is a preview of the wallpaper that you have currently. Over here on this side we have some wallpaper that come with windows. And we’ll just pick one randomly moon flower, then home. Now another thing to take note of is position. You can see that it tends to stretch. There’s also center in tile and you’ll find that sometimes when you clicked center you’ll see this image is quite a bit smaller than it appears when it stretched. So just a word of warning, if you use an image that’s too small and a screen resolution that’s large and you stretch it, the desktop wallpaper would look very grainy which is why you’ll find on many websites that have wallpaper they offer it in a variety or sizes, 1680, 1280 and so on. Now another option is that you can browse and look for wallpaper on your own. I believe I have a wallpaper folder here and you see here is a forest. So it’s sets at the forest and if I click apply, now that’s my desktop wallpaper. You can use pretty much any, BMP, JPEG image for your wallpaper and that’s all there is to it.
