George: Yes viewers, it’s challenge time. And today, we bring you to the heart _______, it’s very windy so let’s hope that that doesn’t stand in the way of what I’m up to. No it doesn’t. Your challenge chore this week is to have a go at creating a floral table center. It sounds like fun, let’s just hope I blossom. Like it? Come on. Wow, glitz and glamour, I love it. Lovely to meet you, I’m George. Sally: Lovely to meet you. I’m Sally from Halo Blossom. George: It’s absolutely a pleasure to meet you. And what a beautiful bunch of blossoms we have in front of us here. Sally: They’re lovely, aren’t they? George: And this week’s challenge is pretty exciting. You’ve got lots of top tips and ideas, what are we going to be doing? Sally: Well, we’re going to be making a table center and to go underneath the bottom of the—a wreath bottom that comes candle opera and I’m going put some tea lights around it as well but we’re going to go with a nice crisp green and white look which is really nice for spring. George: Fantastic. And here’s one, we started earlier. Sally: Yeah. Not yet complete as you can see. George: I’m really excited about this. Let me put the envelope down and you tell me where we start. Sally: So we’re going to start by putting in the Amarillas to these huge heads that we’ve brought on so that they’re perfect for an event that’s happening today. And there you’ll see the largest flask. We’re going to put those in first then start adding all the others that we’ve got. And then at the end, we’re going to fill in with a little bit foliage where we’ve got a few gaps and then it would look absolutely lovely and then you’re going to do one. George: That’s the hard bit. Okay, so let’s get working, shall we? Let’s get this one going. It’s beautiful, a beautiful creation. Sally: It will be. George: Just seeing how everything goes together just kind of blow my mind slightly. It just seems that you’re sort of popping things down but actually, this just come in together with this beautiful creation. Sally, I am loving your style, subtle, elegant and a slight vintage feel as well. Sally: Yeah, I love the vintage look. I absolutely love it. Alright then, show time have a go. George: Oh goodness, I knew you’re going to say that. Sally: You’ll be fine. George: Come on, let’s get back to the table. Alright, here we go. So, roll up these sleeves. Sally, I’m ready for the challenge. Sally: Right. Let’s go for it then. George: Let’s go. Sally: Now, we just need to cut pieces of this which is sallow, it’s a piece of the foliage. George: And then we’re going to put these strategically all over for the center piece to come alive? Sally: Yep, that’s right. George: Sally, I’m scared because you’re looking slightly scared yourself. He’s making a horrific mess of this. What do I need to do? Sally: You’re fine, you just got a little bit too much leaf on that one. So let’s cut off. George: Ditch the leaves. Sally: That’s it. George: A bit too much foliage. Sally: A little bit too much. And if we cut down—just sort of cut that bit off there. George: So Sally, give us some top tips while you’re working away for our brides to be out there in terms of making a budget stretch. Sally: Well, the most important thing when it comes to the wedding flowers is the bridal bouquet. That’s the thing that’s going to be in the photos for years to come. That should be the thing you don’t skimp on going with exactly what you want in your heart and definitely spend money on your bridal bouquet. After that, I’d say table centers. The other things that all your guests will actually take in and there’s a lot of flowers like if you’re decorating a church, that might be an area you can cut back on because people don’t tend to notice quite as much as they would in your reception venue. Some of the best arrangements don’t necessarily use just hundreds of flowers. George: Phase one completed. Sally: I’m out of flowers, George. George: Perfect, let’s take a look. Sally: We can use some Amarillo heads. George: They’re so beautiful. Sally: The next, you need to put some Hydrangea. George: Hydrangea? Sally: Yeah. George: I’ve got to learn all of these names and impress my friends in the park. Sally: So now, we need some white ones. George: Okay. Perfect. Sally: But it’s ideal for budget conscious brides as well. I mean, it looks absolutely lovely in an arrangement like this but it’s really inexpensive. The same with Amarillo’s heads, they’re huge. And when they’re in season through the winter months, they’re really affordable but they take up so much space so they’re a really good idea. George: It’s a cheaper option too. Sally: So we put the roses in now. George: Fantastic. Sally: These are Makita roses which are really nice white rose. George: Absolutely beautiful. Sally: I think you’re done. George: Are we done? Sally: Yeah. George: I’m so proud. You know what? If we just have a little twirl everybody at home, I don’t think I’ve done half bad. Sally: I think you’ve done a really good job. George: You know what? I’m quite proud. Sally: You should be. George: The big important question, did I pass the challenge? Sally: I think you’ve done a cracking job. You should be really proud of yourself. George: For a first timer. Sally: Yeah. For a first timer, it’s really good. George: So, are we really to set on the table. Sally: Let’s carry on then.
