Explaining the Endoscopic Brow Lift
Dr. Andrew Ordon: I have my partner plastic surgeon Dr. Ritu Chopra here with me to
talk about this endoscopic brow lift. But first, let’s take a look at
the new improved Nicole. Nicole come on out.
Dr. Travis, have a seat right here. So how are you feeling?
Nicole: Great.
Dr. Andrew Ordon: Alright, let’s remind everybody out there the way Nicole looked
before surgery. Let’s compare the frontal views and where do you
see that big improvement. It's opening up. Now let’s show you
from the side, before and after. And typically like so many women
and men for that reason complaining of heaviness around the eyes
and so often it’s not just the eyelid’s skin it’s also heaviness in the
brow. So we analyzed her brow and we did this procedure. We
want to take a look at this animation. I’m going to let Dr. Chopra
go through this. He and I worked together as a team. He’s going to
tell you what we do here.
Dr. Ritu Chopra: So you can see we make small incisions in the scalp, so we can
hide the incision. We undermined the scalp like you saw on the
picture. We drilled holes in there into the scalp and we put our
fixation device in. We put it in, pull all the scalp over it and that’s
how the eyebrows get raised. The great thing about this that is so
different from the old way where you use to cut the entire skin
from ear to ear. So you have a less recovery time and a better
outcome.
Dr. Andrew Ordon: So that’s why I did it back when I trained. It involved the incision
all the way around like that. So the important thing here though is
not just looking at the eyelids but analyzing the brow as well and
there are certain landmarks that we follow to give nice, natural,
pretty brows.
Dr. Ritu Chopra: Absolutely, there are two things we worried about, position and the
contour of the brows. So everybody at home can do this to check if
their brows are okay. I’ll demonstrate on Travis.
So the first thing you do, to look for the position you fill your rim
of your brow. For women the brow should be one centimeter above
that for there are three things you want to look at, the middle part
of your brown you should line it up with the middle of your eye
right here, so that’s the way your brow should end. The high point
of your brow should be in the lateral part of your eye right where
the blue ends, so that’s the high point of your brow. It should be
right here. And your brow should finely finish from a line directed
from your nose to your eye your brows just finish there. So there
are things you can do at home look in the mirror and as you can
see if you need a brow lift.
Dr. Andrew Ordon: And again, what was different about this that previously we would
suspend the brows with one single suspension device. We are one
of the only surgeons in the world that are now suspending the
temple area through this incision, and you can see that we actually
are bringing the browse up, fixing the brows and fixing the temple
here with this device, the Ribbon Endotine made by the COAPT
company, so that gives you a little bit of an idea. It improves that
heaviness around the eyelids and corrects brow position.
Dr. Travis Stork: And you’re happy.
Nicole: Yes, very happy.
Dr. Andrew Ordon: And you did it for the right reasons.
Nicole: Yes, I did. Absolutely.
Dr. Travis Stork: And that’s the most important. We can’t the scars and we just see a
beautiful end result. Thank you.
Nicole: Thank you.
Dr. Travis Stork: Good work guys.
Dr. Andrew Ordon: That’s it.
