Number six on Kiplinger’s best cities for 2008. This metro area is a people magnet the population has doubled every 20 years for the last century. The state capital, Austin provides jobs to over a 160,000 government employees. Here’s where some of them work at the historic capital building. They University of Texas is another bit employer. It takes a village to educate UT’s 39,000 undergraduates. Here’s Chuy’s a local hang out with an elbow steam and enough green chilies to get your stomach all shook up. If the chilies are bit much head over to Amy’s and square a serving of homemade ice cream. Still hot there’s always Barton Springs pool awesome chill and chili spring fed swimming hall. Yeah, Austin is weird which is why the San Jose Motel now known as the Hotel San Jose stands for sheik in this funky city. A standard room at the San Jose runs $200.00 a night. Now we’re in round rock a freighting supper just North of Austin. This building houses the chamber of commerce who’s leaders help plan for round rocks rapid growth. Don’t let the quaint downtown for you; round track is home to high tech companies including Dell as well as three Major Medical centers. At Tara Vista, round rocks residential community you can get a four bed room, three bath house for about $270,000.00. On the road again I tried through Texas whole country to tiny Lago Vista at the edge of Lake Travis. People live in Lago Vista for the small town atmosphere. Here’s a highschool baseball lgame and they commute the jobs in Round Rock or Northwest Austin. Turn off road 1431 which cuts through the whole country and find yourself on top of the world or at the end of the road I turn the car round in Lago Vista for Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.
