Fighting: Terrence Howard Interview

We sit down with the star of Fighting and talk about his new role in the game.

Fighting: Terrence Howard Interview Male 1: You set the worlds that Harvey inhabits for us a little bit and such the people will run into this world and kind of how he makes his money. Terrence Howard: Well you have to think about the creatures that come out ay night. You know, that’s who Harvey is. he’s one of those little shrew mouse that go through the leaves and every once and a while we look up at the day light and you know, and know that he needs to run for cover but he has to be afraid of the owls at night and I think he is missing his tail. And a little piece of his backbone and scavenging until he comes across Channing Tatum. And he sees that possibility of becoming ratatouille so to speak. You know men, Maybe it’s okay to believe in dreaming and believe in dreams, you know, maybe I don’t have to be nocturnal, maybe I can come out into the light and see the world and make it though the event horizon and see what’s on the other side of this black hole that he’s been living at. Male 1: Now, your character Harvey past relationships with Martina’s and Jackson, can kind of force in that a little bit because those guys popped up, I mean jack and Martina’s? Terrence Howard: Well you know it’s interesting when a group of people gather together when they’re young. You know with the particular hassle in mind and thinking, they’re going to utilize each other’s skills and men you go through a drought and then you begin to feed off of each other. And you cannibalized and when one person sees weakness in someone else, you know, they broke my legs when I was 19 years old because of a $200.00 or a hundred dollar bet that I was suppose to loose and I didn’t loose and they turned me into a looser and they continue to break me along way and he never got his manhood back. He never got his belief back and they never let him up. It’s all mostly cry on call where you’re being held down and someone continues to hold you down and humiliate you. That’s what Harvey was for twenty years until he sees the fighter in shock, that’s not going to let anybody hold him down. He’s going to get up and do whatever he has to whether it’s fighting emotionally, fighting for love or fighting for life and death. It’s not about black eyes and bloody noses, its life or death they struggle. That humanity he’s in. And he exemplifies that. Male 1: I have to ask you, who would win on a fight Channing Tatum or Luis Guzmán? Because let’s face it, Louise, he took out Carlito Bergante. Terrence Howard: That’s a life. I think Luis Guzmán, Luis might do it. Luis might win because Luis doesn’t play fair. He might bite your kneecap. And rip the tendon off of it. and you like that ha?
