Fly Fishing on Lakes - Trolling

Male Speaker: We are trolling as a fishing method but it is so effective and especially when, when you first come to a new area, a new lake, you move around because a lot of times trolling will give you those hints and show you where the fish hanging out. And if you just go somewhere anchor and start casting, you could spend a lot of time I you were to do that coming off in this amount of time, we would cover here a litte bit more thoroughly, but this will give us overall view and then spend time casting anchoring casting, plus anchoring in this kind of wind is, it's pretty tough. Female Speaker: Yeah. Male Speaker: I also am kicking and moving like this, kick trolling. I like to strip in once in a while. For no other reason, it helps to check for vegetation in my beyond the fly, it gives a different movement. You may find it as you start stripping fast, that's just what they are looking for. Female Speaker: Yeah, something a little bit different in what it can -- Male Speaker: Yeah, just a little different because I've watched this in the water and they'll follow a fly for actually quite a while. And this does, what it's doing all the time, they just drew away from this, they just make subtle imperative like I am not letting it go. Female Speaker: I'm trying to have it. Male Speaker: Right. It's a real impulse striking within that way. They don't get to think about it too often. It is like you take it now or it's gone. Female Speaker: It's getting away. Male Speaker: Now. That's for trolling up. I will strip in a little bit and also it works in with my nature that I just can't stand, sitting here doing nothing. Female Speaker: It's pretty boring. You just sit like here, oh well, when there is a fish came by, then -- Male Speaker: All the time. So this react it -- I get the feet active. I get to think. And I do it a lot. I don't know how to put words, but I think down the line. I think all the way down the line and that's really tough. A lot of times I even I turn to be the eyes of the fly and looking around and seeing what's happening and it gives me something to do again, especially when the fish aren't hitting. And I wonder, well maybe if something right there, if I just change it a little bit, or just move it. And so it helps me to keep active even though in a fairly - if we are just sitting here or even just on a slow troll, fairly sedentary activity. So I can keep active that way. Then when I climb some fish, or find a method that's working, then I can concentrate on that. It looks like I am going to trying to have a sleep sometime but I am really -- Female Speaker: You really concentrating hard I know. Male Speaker: There is a lot of mental activity going on. Really there is. I am roll casting now and with the heavy wind, it's really easy to get that roll casting kick it way up in the wind, let it catch and this kick right down there.
