Go Gliding in Antibes, France Female: Our next destination took us past FAM, the host of the annual film festival to the heart of the land to Antibes. The city of Antibes gets its share of ritz and blitz but it’s not quite as renowned as its famous neighbors Cannes and Niece. Entering the city you’ll past through the narrow streets of the old town lined with side walk cafes and sun worshippers. Remnants of the fortified city walls built in the 17th century still stand guard over the road to the port. Male: For Monte, we headed inland where the road climbs from the coast to the foothills of the Maritime Alps. This area is a Mecca for nature lover and adventure sports enthusiasts. There are waterfalls for canoeing, hiking trails, mountain biking and plenty of blue sky and light winds for soaring. These pilots have met with both exhilaration and terror. I wondered if July was truly prepared for this. Female: I think once I get on the air I’ll relax and enjoy it, the takeoff was awfully scary to me. Looking down the ramp it was hard to imagine what miracle would cause us to lift off and float gracefully to the sky. After holding my breathe for take off, I enjoyed the soaring decent but I have to admit, I was happy to be on the ground again. Mark was anxious to find out how I fared.
