Go on an Elephant Ride in Chiang Mai in Thailand
Female: In the center of this magical nation lies its capital city Bangkok. There are over 400 temples on the capital alone with the most impressive to be found at the Grand Palace. Bangkok’s major landmark, the Grand Palace is walled city which was gradually enlarged by the monarchs of the Chakri Dynasty. The complex is an immense one square mile containing numerous temples and halls. It naturally attracts the reverent but with sights that could convert even the skeptic.
The palace is decorated with detailed murals, ornate statues and lavish amounts of gold leaf.
Michael T. Weiss: You come out here to the east and you realized their lives are much slower and I think that that’s probably too much work should be at and we’re so called than a rat of race in the west and here is just a peaceful and beautiful. And mom, I’m not coming home.
Female: Indeed the capital city of Bangkok seduces with its combination of ancient temples and modern high rise luxury hotels. It’s an even blend of eastern culture and western convenience. But to the north of Bangkok lies a very different land.
Northern Thailand has green rolling plains populated by villages and hill tribes and it is here that we begin our sporting adventure in the Northern Province known as Chiang Mai. The northern Thais are known for love of nature. They take good care of their animals and in return the animals take good care of them.
Northern Thailand is tea country and yet with all of the modern technology there is nothing and surpassing the elephant to harvest the tea. The great thing for the sports traveler is that you can come up here and take two to five-day tracking adventures into the hills and meet the tribe’s people all on this majestic animals.
Male: Not everyday man. That’s something you get to experience everyday. What’s really heavy is when you’re right next to like two other elephants and you’re going down stream and you hear whatever it is up in a jungle trees. Amazing, amazing. I’m awed. I am awed by Thailand, that’s what I am.
Male: It’s really amazing when you travel some place as beautiful as Southeast Asia and Thailand I mean it is so extraordinary beautiful and we still have a chance to save it and if we don’t do it now it’s going to be nothing left. And it’s so beautiful. I mean it is the most mortal sin in the world to ruin this view.
