Hey there kiddies, your guitar sage. Today we’re going to learn how to play Teardrops on my Guitar by Taylor Swift. This song is in the key of B flat and so I’ll perform it like not that I performed this song, but if I did performed it which I don’t I would capo with that 3rd fret because it’s a lot easier, okay? So here we go, I’m just going to jump into it right away. I've got much short on my screen here that I’m looking at and I’m going to play it and for those of you they can just see what I’m doing. Learn the chords and move on and great to this with a new more helps that around. We will talk about particulars, all the beats in pieces of this song for progression, how to read the chard, why I'm using the capo, how to play the chords and all that. Okay, so stick around. [Demonstration] Okay, so now let’s talk about how the song is constructed. The intro and all the verses let’s see what I have here. Intro, all the verses, the solo and the out row where the ending of the song or all these chord progression, okay so write that down. Intro a verse, solo and out row all these chord progression and a chord progression is G plus the songs in 4 okay 4-4 just select [Demonstration] So, every chord in this song is one measure long. Here we go, it’s going to go G, Em, C, D with the G flat in the base or an F# however you want to call it. The base that the one I’m doing holding on D chord and I’ll bring my thumb around here and playing the G# or an F sharp however you want to call it. Okay so you play that note; let all the strings ring out D chord, thumb that guy. Yeah, you’re not probably going to be able to get it right away. For those of you that do great, for those of you that don’t, keep trying it will come to you, okay? Guitar is a learning process just like anything else. Okay, so that’s the chord progression. Intro verse, solo and out row okay. G, Em, C, D with the Gb you just repeat them. If you wanted to do with strumming wise you could go [Demonstration] Now we’re doing all down stripes, right? And if you notice what I’m doing with my right hand ‘cause I’m accenting the [Demonstration] Put that move grace note in between, I’m just kind of barely hitting the strings so like [Demonstration] In that accent you can you go [Demonstration] You could do that accent as well but for the most part you just stick with the, you know just the 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and you’re going to be fine. Okay, let’s talk about the pre-chorus, yeah just the pre-chorus. This is just the chord progression for the pre-chorus. Pre-chorus only. Here we go, Em, C, G, D with the G flat. Kind of play again, Em, C, G, D with the G flat. So this is— [Demonstration] Okay, that keep on a C, it should go back to the G. So, I scare myself when I sing high like Taylor Swift. Okay, so chorus, it’s going to go like this, kids. It’s going to go G, D with the G flat, Em, and a C and you’re going t o repeat that for as many times as the chorus calls for. For the first chorus you’re going to do it twice and for the third chorus you can do it three times and I think man I think there’s only two chorus in this tune, I’m pretty sure.
