Gwyneth Paltrow Dishes on Iron Man Host: What’s your secret to staying in such great shape? Gwyneth Paltrow: Exercise, exercise, exercise. Host: Exercise, exercise, exercise and you have the secret weapon, your business partner. Gwyneth Paltrow: I have Trace Anderson, she is my secret weapon. Host: She lit up the carpet here tonight; she’s a big deal now because— Gwyneth Paltrow: That’s so great. Host: Now you told me that the key to working out with Tracy is doing it every single day. Gwyneth Paltrow: Yes, five days a week. Host: You’re so busy as a movie star and a mother, how do you find time to work out with Tracy? Gwyneth Paltrow: I just force myself, sheer will. Host: What is it about her workout regimen and her philosophy on fitness that you really believe in? Gwyneth Paltrow: Well, I’ve always been someone who’s like to be fit and you know I’ve never ever gotten results like I’ve gotten from her. I mean to be a 37-year old mother and to be able to wear shorts in a red carpet, you know what I mean? It’s due to her. Host: Yes, high five for that. You look terrific, she thought me one of her moves, she had me out here dancing—do you want to show me a Tracy Anderson move that I can do? Gwyneth Paltrow: In this jacket, no. Host: No, one that I can do, you can play coach for me, I’ll do it, I’ll do it. Gwyneth Paltrow: I can’t move to show you. Let me see what she showed you. Host: She showed me just like a dancing—that’s a Tracy Anderson move no? Gwyneth Paltrow: No, whatever. Host: Lets talk about the movie lets talk about Iron Man and what it means to be here on Hollywood having the premiere. I know we all wanted it to be on London but unfortunately that didn’t happen but we’re here on the streets and it’s packed and people are going nuts. What does it mean for you to be out here tonight? Gwyneth Paltrow: Well it’s very exciting, it feels like it’s a big movie and hopefully it will all—it will justify all the hype. Host: You told me today that your littlest one has not seen the movie. Gwyneth Paltrow: Neither of them has—I haven’t even seen it yet. Host: You haven’t seen the movie? Gwyneth Paltrow: No. Host: Do you get nervous when you watch yourself on screen? Gwyneth Paltrow: Yes. Host: Really? Gwyneth Paltrow: I don’t like it. Host: You’re not looking forward to it tonight really? Gwyneth Paltrow: I’m looking forward to seeing the parts that I’m not in but I don’t know. I find it hard, its weird, it’s like listening to yourself on an answering machine but worse, do you know what I mean? Host: Now your two kids haven’t seen the movie but they’re obsessed all things about Iron Man, how into the franchise and Tony Stark are they? Gwyneth Paltrow: Well my son is very into all the stuff, all of the men, there’s a quad bike I’m bringing home like a huge bag of stuff from this. He’s going to blow gasket. Host: I love it, now what I love about Pepper Pots is she’s not the typical damsel in distress. She seems to be the one who keeps the order in the Stark household in a lot of ways but there are some times when she says, “I have no business being here.” So tell me what you love about Pepper Pots and playing the role now a second time. Gwyneth Paltrow: I love her heart. She’s a really good girl. She’s smart and I think she’s a good role model for young women so I like that a lot. Host: I’ve heard that said about Gwyneth Paltrow over the years. Now I see why it’s a good fit as you as Pepper Pots, well congratulations on another one and hopefully we’ll see a third one in the future, what do you think? Gwyneth Paltrow: I hope so, I’m game.
