Hair Style at DKNY - Fashion Week NY Fall 2010 Lauren: Hi! This is Lauren Dimet Waters of second cities style for the style coalition. I’m back stage at DKNY with Eugene Solomon who is the global creative director for Wella. Did I get that right? All right, can you tell me a little bit the hair we’re going to see for the show tonight? Eugene: The hair we’re going to see really is a young sexy equestrienne kind of feeling in hair. What we’ve really done is as you know equestrienne hair is really hard and step down with product. It’s not very tight. It’s not really loose because it’s already sexy. What I really want is to do is I wanted to sexy up. I want the girls to look hotter, to look fresher, to look younger and to look so serious. Look a bit more playful. Lauren: Okay. Eugene: So with this hard set party I’ve been working with Eva Scrivo right who’s a colorist of Wella that— Lauren: We just talk to her about the color right? Eugene: That’s what we've been working and we decided that it would be really a great idea to add some softness and to brighten up this look. So she’s been coloring hair for us and we’ve been adding lots of colors of hair into the hair to one to it softness to add the thickness and it kind of more luxurious feeling in the hair basically. Lauren: Okay. Eugene: Because I just felt that the whole thing needs to be brought it out and not so hard and flat looking. Lauren: Okay so it’s just setting them like this and then we’re going to let that loose. Eugene: We saw it for with start out which is really great because if they more stick into the hair down. I wanted to just to add shine for the one that it needs to be like a kind of light satin natural shine. I didn’t want anything there was like a high gloss and so dried looking. I want it so that really organic for hair and that just gives us the directions that we need and it holds the hair down and that’s to shine. And literally we just like to comb hair across right around the hair and just tight it very loosely and as very soft ponytail. The trick is though is this? This is really where it’s kind of going on and it looks like nothing at the moment but it’s like a wonderful way of setting hair and adding volume at any movement without the hair looking like it’s been tight of hair and curly and really old fashion. Lauren: So we’re going to let this loose and then it will be side swept kind of when she— Eugene: Side swept, it will be pulling down here and it will be this kind of like tousled, sexy kind of wave. So it’s really kind of almost like she’s been horse riding but this was after. Lauren: Got it. Oh I can't wait to see her. Eugene: It’s kind of like fresh and more invigorated and sexier.
