Cynthia Sass: Did you know that peanuts are the edible seeds from pine cones? In addition to there MUFA’s they also provide some protein, fiber and iron. Peanuts have been eaten around the world for centuries by Latino, Asian, Native American and Mediterranean cultures. In Greece peanut are often preserve in honey or use as a key ingredient in classic pastel. I just love there unique flavor and I sprinkle them on everything from hammiest to garden salads even in my morning whole grain cereal. They can buy them raw and you can roast them your self, all you have to do is sprinkle them on to a flat tray and roast in the oven at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes. Or you can toast them on top of the soup in a heavy scale it until they turn golden. That’s the easy part; the top part is taking to the recommended two tablespoon serving.
