Steve: Star 94, Steve & Vikki Morning Show and its time for Alisa's deals of the week. Female Speaker: My super shopper always finds the best deals in town, good morning. Alisa Henderson: Good morning, how is every body. Steve: We are doing great. Alisa Henderson: My name is Alisa Henderson and I work for Star 94 video. Right now you can get 50% off the mark down. My segment is called Alisa's deals of the weekend, it's a lot of fun and I go out shopping and pick things up and then on Monday mornings 9.10 I go into the studio and I sort to do a report on whatever the deals I found for the weekend. On a normal shopping day, I will go to the food court. I have probably waited till the last minute and I am really starved, so at that point you know a cheese burger is going to be the absolute best choice for me. I want to loose you know 30 more pounds and I think of it constantly. You just really wish there was somebody to tell you the right things to do. Carolyn Oneil: Hi Alisa, I'm Carolyn. Alisa Henderson: Hi. Carolyn Oneil: I'm a registered dietician. Looks like you are shopping for lunch. Alisa Henderson: I am having a hard time, hard time making the decision. Carolyn Oneil: Well, I am here to be your personal lunch shopper today. I know that you are the super shopper on Star 94 and so I kind of design a little plan that's going to fits in with what you think about may be would be fashion today we can think about little guard to food. You will see the healthy alternatives on almost every stock here in the food court. Alisa has a lot of fun, she is so creative and I want to play on her ability to be creative within her food choices you know just like she does in fashions. I have devised Alisa's shopping list for eat healthy lunch so number one I know you cannot disagree with this great taste never goes out of style, it has to be something you like to eat. Alisa Henderson: Absolutely. Carolyn Oneil: And that's what we are going to look for today. I wanted her to look differently at a restaurant menu not just focus on and I should get the small dish, I should get the non-fried that and identifying where some of those hidden calories are. So what's your most popular pizza pepperoni, no doubt. Alisa Henderson: And I usually like to have pepperoni, the chicken sandwich the spicy chicken sandwich I always get that. Carolyn Oneil: Okay. Alisa Henderson: And it is fried and I know so I have extra calories in it. Carolyn Oneil: Some foods whether it's yogurt or wrap and they sound healthier, they sound like they are probably lower in calories but guess what folks. Sometimes the wrap sandwich can have just as many calories as the fried chicken sandwich. Now look at how healthy all of this looks. Alisa Henderson: It looks healthy if it is an, and definitely looks like it. Carolyn Oneil: There are so many fast food places have salads now but I would say beware of the salad dressing. What's the best way to cut these calories in half? Alisa Henderson: Use only half. Carolyn Oneil: Use only half. Alisa Henderson: -- don't they cook everything in oil. Carolyn Oneil: A lot of oil and tasty and actually if you see the portions too they are huge portions. It might be okay if you are sharing with the friends when you are shopping or something. So you can put kind of like a vegetable platter and then just say I just want a little bit the still fried chicken or something like that and Alisa Henderson: And don't get the full portion. Carolyn Oneil: The full portion. Now I would like to say the more you know about nutrition the more you can eat. Alisa Henderson: I have purchased the grill chicken before I do like it. Carolyn Oneil: So what they do is and the reason it tastes so good is they put butter on the bun so even before you put the other honey mustard or may and whatever you like on that so you can request the bun without the butter. You shop online right when you are looking and doing your research, I would really recommend that you kind of click around their websites are amazing. You can look at the foods you normally get, you can bill the meal and it will total it up for you again the more you know the more you can eat. Alisa Henderson: She was able to show me that there are healthy choices that I can make and I can still be satisfied you know once I have lunch. Carolyn Oneil: Now lunch with the dietician is not like being a minister in a bar, is it. Alisa Henderson: The little things that she told me today are definitely going to help me in my success to loosing weight. Carolyn Oneil: Its not just about those numbers on the scale Alisa its about blood pressure control. Its about blood sugar control preventing heart disease, its what nutrition can do for you rather than you know taking away just calories and fat. Adding healthful foods to your diet just as she feels better and has that energy that we all crave today and that's our goal for you, a timeless diet not just two weeks but something you can live with every single day.
