Holiday Gifts for Co-Workers

Between your kids, nieces, nephews, and everyone else; your shopping list probably gets longer every year. And what about co-workers? Rhiannon hit the streets to find out in today's he said she said.

Host: You know between the kids, your nieces, nephews and everybody else out there, your shopping list probably gets longer and longer every single year and then what about the coworkers. Rhianne hit the streets to find out in today’s He Said, She Said. Rhianne: Whether you work for a big corporation like this one or a cutesy little salon like this one, should you get your coworkers a gift for the holidays? Female: At our office, we do secret Santa so there’s already a limit and that’s good and you kind of know the person you’re buying it for so that’s good too so it’s easier. Rhianne: And no one’s left out. Female: No one’s left out. Male: We give each other like an envelope with money in it, a card, you know and drinks. Rhianne: If you get one person a gift, you have to get everyone a gift? Male: Yes, you do, you’ve got to be fair to everybody. You’ve got to be really fair. Rhianne: What’s acceptable for gift giving at work? Female: I say ornaments. You can’t go with anything too personal. You have to go pretty generic. Male: I’m the person in the office that’s the director of the office so I don’t really expect anybody giving me gifts but I do like to get a nice greeting, a good hearty laugh, a pat in the back, good wishes. I think that’s what’s really important. Female: Something small like cookies, candy, things like that. Rhianne: Something you put a little thought into. Female: Or a little worker effort. Male: We don’t really give gifts where I work. We do get together for a little bit of a holiday gathering but as far as the office environment, there’s no gifting at all. Female: At our work, we do a secret Santa, and you either join or you don’t and whoever joins exchanges gifts and the ones who don’t, don’t have to. They can be party poopers.
