When we think holiday parties, we tend to think glitz and glam, sparkles and shimmer. Well, here to help us add some pizzazz to our makeup routine and look like a star is Better's savvy shopper, Jenn Falik.

Audra Lowe: When you think of holiday parties, you would tend to think the glitz and the glam, all the sparkle and the shimmer. Well, here to help us add some pizzazz on our makeup routine and look like a star is better savvy shopper Jenn Falik. Welcome back Jen. Good to see you. Jenn Falik: Thank you. Good to see you too. Audra Lowe: You always bring some fancy different things that we never would have thought about, just kind of glitz it up a little bit right? Jenn Falik: Just to spice it up. It's the holidays. We’re going out a lot. You might as well play with your look. You don’t want to wear the same makeup every single night. Audra Lowe: Exactly. Jenn Falik: So, this isn’t like some fun alternatives. Audra Lowe: Okay, so first we’re going to brighten up the eyes with a little shimmer, right? Jenn Falik: Brighten up the eye. It's all about playing with your eye colors. So, these are palettes from tradition’s formula. They’re done by eye colors. So, when you're at the Drugstore and you're shopping, you can see what combination works best with your color and you can just combine this in any number of hundreds of ways. Wet, dry, use a liner, shadow, contour, there are a whole bunch of different things and the colors are really bright and fun, different than your usual metallic mutual shade. Audra Lowe: And I like the fact that they have more than just two colors in there to choose from too. There are a variety of them in there, right? Jenn Falik: A variety of colors in a million different combinations. Audra Lowe: Okay so now, we’re going to get a little more dramatic with the eyeliner. Jenn Falik: The eyeliner, eyeliner is—I have recently just become obsessed with the eyeliner. I think it totally changes your look up and with the new formulas like these. They are from Sephora. They’re really easy to put on. They’re water-proof and they really are full proof to apply because they do go on so softly. These are some flashier colors. So, you can play it up. May be you want to do black but put a little blue over it. Play around, have fun with it and the white, perfect in the corner of your eye or dab a little bit right above the cupids above your lip and makes your whole lip pop. Audra Lowe: Interesting! And that’s like a pink color over there, right? Jenn Falik: Yes, there’s a cool purple color. And you can smudge these out a little bit too. So, if you put it on and take a little Q-tip and make it a little bit smudgy, it almost serves the purpose of a shadow as well. Audra Lowe: Gone are the days of just using black and that’s it, right? Jenn Falik: Yes. Audra Lowe: We’re branching out. Jenn Falik: Another good thing, just a tip when you're buying makeup over the holidays, look for sets because these value set is $20.00. It would normally be $40.00 for these products by themselves. So again, when you're looking for sets and collections get them for yourself. It's a good deal. Audra Lowe: That’s not a bad deal at all. Okay now, what really brings the eyes out? What with the lashes? Jenn Falik: Love the mascara. Audra Lowe: Yes, so what’s different here? Jenn Falik: So, this is—I love this shade bad gal lash, this sort of mascara from Benefit because you can layer it on really well. It has a plush-brush so you can keep putting it on as much as you want until you get the desired effect. And it's long-lasting. It's water –proof. It doesn’t flake, it's just an all around, really amazing for me. Audra Lowe: I like the title, bad gal lash. Jenn Falik: Bad gal lash, they have this version, there was a water-proof version. There are some different colors to a few more but I picked the classic black. Audra Lowe: Okay, so now, we’re going to mover over to the bronzers. But, this has more of a natural look. It's not so bronzy as we’ve seen in the past, right? Jenn Falik: Exactly, this is more a natural combination with al these other things that we have. They’re so fun and colorful. Keep your cheeks more neutral. You don’t want to look like a clown. So, I love these from Philosophy because the color combinations are very realistic. You’ve got the bronze to put all over and then just pop the pink or shade on the apples of the cheeks to give yourself a little brightness and you're done. And it's just easy to apply. You're not going to look weird. Not going to look “cakey”. Audra Lowe: Not like a clown. Jenn Falik: Smooth, natural glow. Audra Lowe: Okay now, you touched on the lips just a little bit earlier but, over here you talked about the sets too. This is great. You're getting a lot of different colors in one set. Jenn Falik: You're getting a lot of different colors in one set and you can mix so many combinations. So, for any occasion if you want to go party with Dru Hill or Nick Cannon, if you don’t, you want to play it safe? Play it safe. And this is from Nick’s Cosmetics which is a cool Canadian brand that makeup artists love, sort of hard to find. Here, you can find it online. With this palette I've just found as opposed to many other lip palettes out there. It has a great brush inside which is important for on-the-go application. The combinations are great. It has just enough sparkle, truly enhance the lips but not look glittery. Audra Lowe: Got you. Not look glittery, don’t look like a clown that’s what Jenn says.
