Jesus: Hello, my name is Jesus, I'm from 57 years old. I'm from Stockton, California. I like to know what is tendonitis and how is it treated? Ned: Jesus, tendonitis refers to the inflammation of a tendon. A tendon is really kind of a continuation of a muscle. So every muscle on the body eventually becomes a tendon, and that attaches to the bone. And so when you're using a muscle or muscle groups too much, you can get tendonitis as an extension of that muscle because it was getting over use. The treatment for tendonitis is really do a good flexibility or stretching program for the muscle tendon unit and also do a global strengthening program for that muscle and the other muscles around that muscle. So it’s less stress put on the tendon. Once you put, you increase your flexibility, increase your strength, you're able to control your body better and that prevents the tendonitis from occurring.
