To backup files from your Windows Vista PC to a CD or DVD, first place a blank writable CD or DVD in your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive, then choose Start then Documents. In the documents windows, select all the files that you want to copy to disc. If you want a backup the entire contains of a folder such as the documents folder, you can just click the documents folder itself. Right click the files that you want, choose Send To then select the name of your writable CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive. In the burn a disc dialog box that appears, enter a disc title, click Show Formatting Options and choose Live File System if you want a disc that you can add more files to later such as a weekly backup. Choose Mastered if you will use the disc on another computer or if you’ll give the disc to someone else click Next. In the window that appears click Burn to disc, click Next when the files have been copied click the Close button to close the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM window. Your disc has been created.
