Hey everybody, its Semone with fommy.com. And this is our third blog based on questions that I received on Twitter and Facebook as well as on our YouTube channel. This time were going to be talking about backing up your data from your phones. I've noticed that there have been a lot of people that have lost a lot of contacts and they have to send out different messages via the social networking sites to get everybody’s numbers back. And them loosing pictures and things like that. So this one is going to be dedicated solely to knowing how to back up all your data from your phones. So the first way I will suggest for you to back your data up, if you have a phone that uses a SIM card is to back your number, your contacts and things like that, to your SIM card. Your pictures and other information can be sent to your email. If you have a web enabled phone, then I would send your pictures to your email. That would probably be a great way for you to back up any media that you might have. With your contacts in the other hand would be in your SIM card, you are able to switch your SIM card back and forth. Another way that you can do it which does cost is for you to go online and find a actual site that will back all of your files up from your phone. This does cost a monthly in some cases and you would have to actually have a phone that you can actually hook your computer up with so that you can save it and get your phone sync up to that site. Another way to do it with a lot of the smart phones now, they automatically sync. Like with the G1 or some of the other HTC as well as iPhones and blackberries, they sync up to different programs. You want to do that if you want to back up all of your files that are on your phone. Make sure that you're syncing regularly. With Android phones, you don’t normally have to sync as often because it does it on its own. So like in my case, I use a G1. So the G1 automatically has all the information to my Gmail account. So in this case, that’s the awesome way to do it. All your information is automatically backed up. So if you have a phone like that, you want to make sure that your phone is regularly synching. If you aren't sure how to sync your phone up, that will be an awesome question to ask your customer service for your phone carrier. Because they will be able to tell you exactly how to go step by step for your specific phone and back all your information up. The last way that I will tell you how to do it, this is something that I do normally, is you have a memory card like the one I have here. This is one of the memory cards that we carry at Fommy.com and they actually come with a couple of adaptors. In this case its three different ways that you can use this adaptor. You have one, the micro disk, that’s for the really small memory cards. And then you have the mini disk, which is a little bit larger. And then you have the regular memory card size. The one that everybody normally use as in their computer if you have different papers and stuff like that, you put them on a larger one. These are awesome ways to keep all of your information as long as you don’t lose your card, you will have the information on your memory card. Now some phones will allow you to save your contacts on to these cards but it kind of goes by which phone it is. But the majority of them will allow you to save all your media on to these cards which is one of the reasons why people use this. And not only does it open up space in your phone to have more media on your phone. You have an extra 16 gig or 8 gigs. You can have the largest amount of space on your phone all the way to a very small amount if you just need to add a couple more things on your phone. But not only does it do that, but it also will keep all of your information in case your phone drops or it breaks. The screen is cracked and you can't actually get any information off of your phone, you can get it from your memory cards. So this is one of the ways that I use regularly and the fact that you can save all your information on this and then put it into your computer is also awesome. All of your picture that you’ve taken. All of your video and any of the other things that you save to this memory card, you can actually place it into one of these adaptors. You have two separate adaptors, but its three different ways that you can put the information on them. All you have to do is put your information into one of this adaptors and you can put it to any other device that takes one of this memory card which is really awesome. So I would suggest to anybody with a phone that takes memory card, grab one of this, they're a really good thing to have. Hope that that helps you out with any questions about backing up your information. Remember to always sync your phone if it’s possible for you to sync your phone. Make sure you sync it regularly if it’s a cell phone memory card or find some other way to back up all of your files from your phones. Memory cards are available at Fommy.com right now and they are available for multiple varieties of cell phones and different devices. So you can check us out at Fommy.com.
