How to Change the Pitch Control on Turntables

Follow these simple steps in order to replace the pitch control on your SL1200 Technics turntable.

That changes the pitch controls which are existing here. We are going inside and I will show you how to do it, okay. What you need, okay first, you need to fill out, there are not knots and you need some soldier, you need one of these things which are basically it pull to sold there active all joints. There is, basically sucks out, you can hear that. A soldering iron and of course logically you need the new pitch control which can come either in that format on the actual circuit board it self or occasionally it will just come in the format of the piece on the top and most importantly ladies and gentlemen you need this. It is chocolate, okay because slice on the month or without but more that this stop those stuff but I will edit it. They actually forget, sorry, did it brain and screw driver. Alright, once you have got everything you can need, first some first make sure everything is unplugged, okay. You do not want to plug in to anything at all. Now then, what you need to do first and for most importantly is pull apart and to take the weight of the back, you take your cartridge of the front, you slit mat and you will see two holes here. What you need to do, put your thumbs in the holes and push down with your index fingers and [inaudible] the plastic comes off. That is very important because when you turn the turn table upside down if you do not take that off it will fall off. Then, this is why the pillow, from the pillow on the deck until the deck over, like that. Therefore you are not putting any pressure what so ever only on, okay. Then, I make it look so easy do I? You like some stuff messing around with this control and you throw the feet on the floor and take the feet off, okay. And then, what you do is you stop to unscrew. Now then, do not take the screws out leave them in the holes where they are, okay or should I say unscrew it. The reason why I have not taken them out is because if you start taking the screws out, there is a good job, two reasons, one is that you will forget which screw went were but also it is a good idea to keep the screws exactly in the same places, so the corresponding thread will always be the same. The last sit is gently left and the base off, I mean it may jump… is I am going to make sure I know exactly what I am doing before I say anything else and then we start to get this so and so and so at pitch. Okay, what I have done now is, can you see two screws down here, this screws basically one went in this point here that and the other one went in this point here, okay. Now then, I got two options here, one is I can remove this circuit board here, attach to the path control let the pitch control take that out and then replace this complete unit here but there is something cone here at this point and also solves it in here. Now, there one, two, three, this about ten soldiers there, if I need to change this. The easiest thing for me to do is actually just to remove the pitch control this path here and get rid of this guy and then take this one off here and swap them over. What I going to do…
