[Music playing] We go to dribbling fundamentals, we start out with what we call warm up dribbling. This line is going to bend down low in a good position, they are going to put their left hand out to protect the ball, their eyes will face their partners and they will have to dribble with their head up, no higher than knee height. Let us try that. There partners will keep telling them to keep their eyes up. They have to watch them to their eyes if they drop their eyes they have to tell them and we are going to do this drill for about 60 seconds. We want you to dribble the ball hard. I want you to keep your eyes up. [Music playing] Stop. Pass to your partner, we are doing a right hand dribble so this line will face this way, turn your heads toward your partner, get your left hand out and go. Dribble the ball hard. Partners need to make sure they keep their eyes up. Now, we are going to turn this line around, face the other way, we will start them out with their left hand. Again, we are trying to warm your hands up for dribbling, we are also trying to get our players to dribble with their eyes up, so we are trying to accomplish a number of things of the very basic drill. Go down low, bring your right hand out forward toward the bleachers, dribble with your left hand with your eyes up. Dribble the ball hard. Just pass to the partners, face the other direction, so you are going to dribble with your left, put your right hand forward, let us talk a little bit and make sure they keep their eyes up. Everybody talks a little bit. Ready, let me get their eyes up. Now we want to do, everybody has to say eyes up all the way through the drill, we want them to learn to talk and communicate. Dribble the ball hard, and stop. When you first do this drill make sure that they first learn the mechanics of it then you can add in the verbal which we did at the end, the reason being we are also teaching our young people to communicate a little bit and to be more enthusiastic, to be more verbal with their team mates when they are playing or when they are sitting in a game situation.
