How to Create Balcony Gardens Lila: Hi welcome to watchmojo.com. I’m your host, Lila. Today at the bay, we’ll discover a great tips and your trends to help you accomplish the garden party of your dreams. Let’s check it out. Hi I’m here with Catherine Kardaz, a Special Events Assistant. So what are some of the trends for the summer? Catherine: The idea is to find any idea to have a party outdoors. If ever you have an occasion where you’ve just installed a new swimming pool or you’ve just redone your terrace, it’s a great reason to have friends over. And if ever you’re in a situation where you don’t have an outdoor space, we’re creating indoor spaces from the outside so we’ll bring in the outdoors inside and we’ll bring a little of the inside outdoors. Lila: And please tell us a bit about deciding on a theme. Catherine: Basically it can create any type of theme you want to whether it’s a pool party or whether it’s a cocktail, basically, it’s to find your theme and then to find like two colors basically at the most. And then integrate those colors into your theme so whether it’d be on your place settings for your invitation, in your flower arrangements, and it’s just to give that ambience everywhere so here’s an example of like a tropical theme. So we’ve chosen two colors. We’ve gone with the greens and the oranges and that really created a great atmosphere or a great theme. A great example here to add a lot of the tropical, look some bamboo. So here’s a set that we have with the glasses and pitcher from Gutstein Home and also a beautiful place matting sets. Distinctly Home offers a great variety of display settings, thus a great example .It’s kind of loungy ant it’s really popular for this season. Lila: And what about after sunset? Catherine: After sunset is really popular now is to put streamers of lights a little everywhere just to create a mood. Not too much bright lights. A lot of floating candles that we see indoors, we’re bringing them outdoors. So if ever to be weather permits, put a lot of floating candles around in and just create a nice set mood for the outdoors. Lila: And what are some of the specific must haves? Catherine: A lot of color and basically the two main colors that are in a lot of bright yellows and a mixture of blues and whites. And what I could really say is flowers, hanging plants which fit any type of outdoor d?cor. A lot of terracotta pots which also suit any type of d?cor. So it’s basically bring a lot of flowers, bring a lot of comfort outdoors. Lila: Anything else you want to add? Catherine: I would just say, try to have this much fun as possible. Try to keep it very lounge, that’s one of the main things for this year, is keeping at lounge. A lot of sofas outdoors, a lot of cushions, a lot of comfort, not necessarily the typical patio set. We’re bringing a lot of the comfort of a living room set outdoors. Lila: Thank you very much. Catherine: Thank you.
