Rebecca Fox: Walking to any bookstore and chances are you will find shelves full of
material, written about detoxifying the body. From fasting to liquid only
diets, detoxification has been around for centuries in various forms.
Essentially detox is one of potentially and harmful material is remove
from the body, usually from the diet that increases elimination. So what is
that mean to be toxic and what’s the best way to clean up our act. Here to
answer these questions as Dr. Brian Class a Chiroprator who specializes in
detoxification? And Dr. Class let’s start with that question, what is it mean
to be toxic?
Dr. Brian Class: Basically what it means to the toxic Rebecca is when your body has an in
flow of toxins; the majority of it comes from the outside environment.
When that in flow is greater than your body’s ability to detoxify and exit
those toxins that’s when you become essentially toxic.
Rebecca Fox: So what are symptoms does a person experience when they’re toxic?
Dr. Brian Class: The most common symptoms are sleep disturbances, tiredness and fatigue,
diabetes even such things that’s cancer, autism, ADHD and headaches and
chronic sinus problems and allergies like year around and not giving that
seasonal allergy.
Rebecca Fox: We always hear about different things that are possibly harmful to us, are
there any major known causes of toxicity?
Dr. Brian Class: Yes, environment it place a large factor and what is interesting is
according to EPA this year, our indoor environment is 90 to 100 times
more toxic than our outdoor environment right now.
Rebecca Fox: That’s hard for me to believe, what are some of the sources inside the
home?
Dr. Brian Class: Some of the sources are household cleaning products because when we
used products inside of our house it doesn’t go out because of our new
heating and air conditioning system and at all stage within so household
cleaning products, air fresheners, even our personal care products that we
are using in the houses.
Rebecca Fox: How do I— how can I get tested to know if I am toxic?
Dr. Brian Class: The best way to get taxes for toxicity there is multiple ways, the most
simple way is a neurotoxicity questionnaire which is what we do in our
office. And that allows you to see if you do have the symptoms and the
predicators for becoming toxic. There is heavy metal toxicity test, there is
lab work that can be done if that’s needed at that time.
Rebecca Fox: And they can help. Pin point what’s causing your toxicity?
Dr. Brian Class: Exactly, it can pin point what it is if you’re heavy metal toxic, what
exactly metal your toxic in, what source you are really getting your
toxicity from, even bio-toxins such as mold which is very common in this
area in houses.
Rebecca Fox: Okay, so what is the best way to detoxify and I’ve seen a lot of different
things out there?
Dr. Brian Class: there is a lot of different ways and that’s one of those things that there is
harmful ways and there is a very proactive ways that you can detoxify.
The way that I tell people to detoxify, not only removing from on the cells
from those toxic sources which will go in deep about but also in top of that
looking to just modify what they’re putting in there body. Because our
environment we can only alter cell much but in our indoor environment
reducing those toxins and then in our body’s just allowing us to put in
natural ingredients, natural foods without preservatives and additives will
definitely help to detoxify our body.
Rebecca Fox: One final note, is there any unsafe method that we should just absolutely
avoid?
Dr. Brian Class: One of the most unsafe messages for detoxification is just an all health
barrage in your symptoms. A lot of people start laxative to start cleaning
out there colons or they just do a colons cleans or just do a liver cleans.
The problem with that is you’re not addressing the body as a whole. The
best way to detoxify is addressing it on a cellular level and that’s what we
use a product in our office for that.
