This chant honors the universal life-energy of Prana. Namaha means to honor, recognize, and realize the inherent mystery of the one breath breathing us all. This chant is a natural pranayama, increasing the duration of your breath. From here, we will flow into prana mudra, a movement pranayama practice.
Inhale into your heart and exhale, expand the arms into Prana mudra. Inhale; come back to your center. So we will establish the arm movements first, and after a couple of more times, connecting breath and movement. Exhale, returning. Then we will begin to chant to connect sound, breath and movement.
Meditate on the Prana which unite us all. So I'll chant first and you can respond. Om Pranaya Namaha. Inhale back to center. And we'll add Prana to the chant. Om Prana Pranaya Namaha. Inhale back to center, and chanting together. Om Prana Pranaya Namaha, Om Prana Pranaya Namo Namaha, Om Prana Pranaya Namo Namaha, Om Prana Pranaya Namo Namo Namaha, Om Prana Pranaya Namo Namo Namaha, Om Prana Pranaya Namo Namaha, Om Prana Pranaya Namaha, Om Prana Pranaya Namaha, Om Pranaya Namaha, Om.
Now we'll deepen that awareness with Prana Mudra. On an inhale, slowly feel the breath join up the central channel of the spine drinking the inhaled either with Ujai or natural breath all the way to the top of your lungs, pause, and exhale slowly draw the hands back down like a cascade slowing down to the body. Calm, inhale tracing that energy from the root through your heart. Free them through the throat. Position center over the crown of the head opening your arms to grace.
Then exhale, relaxation, nectar, slowing down through your body. Feeling the away that the breath, slow down, inhale, drawing the arms up again. Visualizing the stem of the spine as a light that branches through your body. Trace this up as a cerebral spinal fluid flowing back down to the root. Inhale, the arms, slow up slowly, hearing an feeling your breath. Slowing down your brain waves frequencies to mirror the deep rhythm of nature.
Small inhalation without force a fitness breath. Feel the fulgence, the effulgence and exhale. One last time, sweeping the arms up. Every time the arms spreads, they get lighter, more full with the pranic or energy body. Exhale, back down to the root.
And taking a Hand Mudra of Prana, drawing your pinky and ring ringer towards your thumb, extending your index and middle finger, stretch from your heart to the fingers, from the base of the spine to the crown. Sit inside the Mudra allowing the pranic field of the body to establish its unified resonance. Now on an inhale, draw your hands to your heart. We'll chant Om Shanti Shanti Shanti.
Om Shanti Shanti Shanti.
