How to Enter the Destination on a Garmin Nuvi 750 Hey folks! Brian Cooley here in a 2009 Nissan Rogue with a quick how-to on entering destinations and other sorts of basic tasks on its -- well, that navigation system. You see on the Rogue and on some other cars, they're starting to go toward basically a PND, a portable nav device, that is mounted on a special factory base, kind of a hybrid of in-dash and roll your own. Either way, let's see how it works. This happens to be a Garmin Nuvi 750 but these steps will be common to many Garmin models. Whereto is the first place you’ll normally start and of course address in the upper left, the most common way you’ll go, unless, you’re going to one of your favorites or going to go home there right there but the address is key. The touch screen works pretty well on this guy. The first thing you want to you do, it wants you to tell it what city you are going to. Predictive text gets me to a list as soon as it can figure that out and of course, house number is next and of course because it knows what city then it’s not going to look for any streets that don’t exist there which is a good flow of the logic. Notice that it’s a little bit wobbly up there. I mean I’d like that to be a little stiffer because as I'm using touch screen input and I'm driving, I need the most stable base possible for precise one try input which I'm not always getting here. But as you so see, I quickly got to the point where I say “Yeah, take me there.” Now notice this unit, because it’s basically retail PND, doesn’t have any live traffic on it, so I'm not going to have any those options. It’s not giving me options to do a whole lot of different choices of route on how I get there. I can’t enter any waypoints or destinations along the way. It’s pretty basic navigation. It works well but pretty basic. Now, when you want to stop the navigation because you’re not going there anymore and it’s beginning to annoy you, right back here on the home screen is stop and that makes it very easy to cancel out of your route. Under Tools, you’ll find some important settings including the brightness which matters because it’s up here underneath the glass, some Display Settings. How you want to see your map, the map view which you saw we had was 3D, we can also go to either north up or direction up. Those are done here, again under the Settings menu. And finally here into this menu, you’ve also got your media player if you want to use this thing to play media of a card you can put in the side there or if you want to use it as a picture viewer for God knows what reason, you can see it does that as well. So, that’s how you enter destinations, cancel navigation and use a few other basic features on Garmin Nuvi 750 as supplied as the navigation system in our 2009 Nissan Rogue.
