Now the head of an Airedale should always resemble a brick, so when you hold the head of the Airedale dog you always see the shape of a brick. So we’ll start by brushing all of the coat forward just like this. And the clipper u should be using will be an oster clipper and the size will be a size 15. Just make sure that you can see the corner of the mouth and click back in the corner of the eye, clip back. It doesn’t matter if you don’t get right to the corner to the eye and the mouth. If he’ll blink, we’re just using scissors. The next thing to do is to comb the eyebrows forward under the beard and I will shape the eyebrow. Now the eyebrow starts from a corner of the eye to the corner inside. Just take your scissors and go from the corner of the inside and make sure it goes that way of the dog so if the dog moves, you don’t poke the eye out there with the scissors. So from the corner and underneath and let’s start with the eyebrow. Comb it forward again any part that you haven’t got there—you’re going to stop now so it just go from the corner of the eye, the corner of the nose like that. Next thing to do is between there—from the nose, to at the top of head here. A lot of people they dish them all out but as I said in the beginning there, to look at the Airedale head, it should be square and square on the top. So if you comb forward between the eyes, just trim up, comb again. Now from the sides to the corner of the mouth you do with one blade of thinner scissors. Just cut this thinner part here in the one blade and thinning scissor, blend in from the corner of the eye to the corner of the mouth and underneath. To let the beard drop, you put your thumb into the corner of the mouth and all this hair which in respect there with food and everything you get a dog get food in there and that smells the hygiene but also there, allow this top beard to drop to the bottom as you trim just around the bottom of the lip, like that, holding the beard, still out. And then underneath here, the corner of the mouth is here to the back with your one blade thinning scissors again until you have got a shape of a triangle underneath. Have a look at your dog again and if you still see anymore coat like this coming out, just go into it again. Now this dog has got a particularly soft coat. So whatever way you do there, you can have to take more coat of this one to get the shape. And when you’ve got the basic done like that, you could then see the bits you have missed. So that again, now with the eyebrow, just go back to the eyebrow again, just take a piece more of the eyebrow. Now on top of the eyebrow you can see this face stick here also like that, comb it forward from that side of the head is just about done. Now with an Airedale, look down his eyes, he should look straight down his nose so put your hat finger or thumb on the top of the head like that and then with your finger you can do this with your finger and thumb because the coat is very easy to pull out here. Just pull this out like that. Give it another comb and what you’re aiming for is the Airedale should be a punishing looking head. Now, you can see here there’s small pieces left here and the best way you can do with them, just to blend them in using the thinning scissors then with your brush, brush this back, brush it forward so that the face have more hair and that is your head. Now the next part we do, we do the ears. Now, an Airedale’s ears is that the ear canal is smaller than the Jack Russell, so attention must be valued to the all times is kept clean. So what we do now, with the oster 15 blade, we do the ears. Hold the ear. When you're through the ear, always go from the middle of the ear to the out. Never to straight down because you can tear the top of the ear and you're going to have horrendous problems, the same with the underneath, the 15 and then we trim around the outside of the ear. Here again, always do from the outside of head. Don’t go on inside because if we turn his head there, you can also have damage with the eyes. So hold the dog’s ear like this, pull it out to one side and trim up. Trim around that close to the outside, up around the outside, in any part you got this hair between the ear and the side of the head with your thinning scissors, just blend this in. Now the inside of the ear, you hold the ear forward put your finger and thumb again that always piece of hair must come out. So just pull them out one at a time and then just get your comb again, comb it all down and that is the finished head.
