Female: Did you keep a diary when you are a kid, do you keep a journal today? Coach Libby Gill shares the benefits of journal writing and how to get started. Libby: Journal writing is what I thought verbal meditation because for me, it is very much about downloading what is behind your feelings and your emotions. Sometimes, it is frustrations, sometimes it is grief, sometimes it is anger and if you get that out on a page and it is not just what you write in that day but it is looking and recurring things that start to emerge. To get a very clear sense and pattern of what is bugging or what you are holding back and I encourage people to do these two ways and one is to, it is just free falling communication, just write, just give yourself ten minutes or five pages or whatever you want to do, that is doable, do not say that you have not written a journal and do not say that I do an hour a day because that will make you crazy. And you just let your hand flow. And the other way is to post powerful questions, ask yourself something, what is blocking me here, what job do I want, who do I need to that we have on my support team, and ask yourself that question maybe the night before and then when you get up in the morning, you began to write on that topic, what is really in your mind, what are some of these important ways that… Now it takes a little practice and a little bit of getting used to but it really starts to reveal different layers of yourself and whether you believe that it is coming from your brain or your horrid or from God or the universe, it really makes no difference as long as you get answers and guidance that you are looking for.
