How to Look Cute at the Gym

If your New Years Resolution was to get into shape, Mary Rambin will give you some stylish pointers on how to get motivated and feel great while working out.

Julia: Oh! My God. You guys, Team Mambin, Team Alison, Team Marshall.
Mary: What?
Meghan: Oh! My God.
Julia: Because it's fun to compete.
Meghan: Welcome to TMI Weekly, your source for life, tech, style.
Julia: And now, fitness.
Mary: And now, fitness. Well, I think fitness is part of living a stylish lifestyle. Everybody is talking about --
Julia: Motivation comes in all different -- and vice versa but I am going to wear in the gym.
Mary: Okay. When you go to the gym, wear your Team Blair shirt. But everybody has ways like motivating ways in the gym. Oh! I am going to invite your friend, or oh! I am going to get out and workout a plan, I say, good for you, let's see how all that works. My motivation sometimes is new gym clothes. It's like when you go to grocery-store and you get home what you want to eat, everything that you just buy. The same concept here. Okay, so we are going to go over ways to look cute at the gym.
What do you look for if you're out shopping, looking for a non-brand name that you know is affordable? Alternative brands if we are not shopping the big dogs, are first of all, Body Language. They are still a little bit pricy but they are more durable, and they don't fade and they last longer. I am wearing Body Language right now.
Julia: Oh! This look great.
Mary: See, and they have like -- they have, kind of, key little things like a color going on, see.
Meghan: Oh! Cute, how much were these?
Mary: These were 75. I have worn this a ton, I can't even tell.
Julia: Okay, I'd say they look premium.
Mary: You want one piece of a clothing to be fitted to your body, whether it's tiny pants, big T-shirt, or tiny top, big pants, like make sure that you don't go to the gym looking like a slot.
Meghan: For me I am so critical, I am hypercritical and always been hypercritical about my body. So I feel more -- I know for some reason I feel more comfortable like being in baggy cloths, and so I can just concentrate on working out.
Mary: There are mirrors in gyms for a reason, right? So when you go to the gym and you are like pumping iron or you are running, you are doing your thing, like you want to able to see like, okay, this is what's happening like, are my thighs jiggling too much? Like, are my arms big? And then that in itself becomes the motivators, so that when you continue to go to the gym, you'll see a different person from here.
Meghan: There are so many cool ways you can do with baggy clothes. Like when you are getting hot, you'd pull up the arms or you just say tie it up.
Mary: Meghan did tie it up.
Meghan: I pull up my leg things.
Mary: She pulls it up here, she pulls up her legs things. She wears as she is practically wearing no clothes.
Julia: Yeah, actually --
Meghan: It's my part of work out there.
Mary: Yeah.
Julia: She actually should talk to her therapist about this. While you are at exercise, clothes stay about your --

Mary: And also try to incorporate color. You know that's kind of -- instead of just wearing black, I know it's slimming, but try some different colors, right? I am guessing your shirt if you got it target, it's C9 by Champion, right?
Meghan: Yes, it is C9 by Chamion.

Julia: Well, you are a good girlfriend.
Mary: C9 by Champion, they make all different styles, all different colors, and it's affordable. Like I think these were like 12 bucks.
Julia: Yeah.
Mary: And trying out wearing a sports bra if you've a small breast because I know.
Julia: Other some of the sports bras like this one, make your boobs look so big.
Mary: This is for Julia. Actually, she wears in the gym.
Meghan: I wear a normal bra and then I wear sports bra on top of it because I am so -- just because I do a lot of cardio.
Julia: I know she does that, I know she does. You wear a normal bra --
Meghan: Yes.
Julia: -- and then a sports bra?
Meghan: Yes, I would like an under wire and then I have a normal -- what is a bra actually about?
Julia: I totally did not notice and I am not faking. You knew this?
Mary: I just --
Julia: And you let this continue?
Mary: No.
Meghan: I like everything hard and tight, hard and tight.
Mary: No, you don't, you like everything loose and baggy, make up your line.
Meghan: You just keep my two bras please.
Julia: Take off your bra -- both of them.
Mary: I mean obviously --
Meghan: I wear this for the marathon, it says Geekette on the front and in the back it says Where's the WiFi? I advice anybody who is competing to definitely either dress up in a costume, or have something like fun thing, because when I was running the marathon, after like mile 15, when I was pretty dying, having somebody go Go Geekette, Go Geekette, it was --
Mary: It motivates you.
Meghan: Awesome.
Mary: I don't think I have seen this shirt since the marathon. Check out this picture, this is really what she wears in the gym. The third brand is a little obscure, and you'd have -- you can't find it online but it's called Aspire. Their whole line is really great and affordable.
Julia: You know what, I actually, I have some of these too. I think it also might be a target.
Mary: No, it's not target. It's Expository.
Julia: Oh! Expository, okay that's it. That's it. I have --
Mary: What are you doing in Expository?
Julia: I know right.
Meghan: Honestly, I am going to tell you something, that seeing this cute gym clothes actually makes me want to change my styles.
Julia: Can you imagine Meghan in this outfit?
Meghan: I'll look so -- I think cute.
Julia: Meghan, it's a new year.
Mary: Obviously, I wanted you to be comfortable, and if that means wearing big baggy clothes, then go for it. But I feel more motivated when a) I've got something new and fun to wear, and b) if like, I have a top that shows off a little bit too much here, then you better bet that I am going to working really hard on this oblique. So if I miss any brands, obviously, let me know, but what I want to know are what are good exercises that no one is doing. We all know lunges. We all know squats, and power squats, and blah-blah-blah, but maybe there is a different combination we don't know.
Julia: Maybe there is one target in the Goodies Maximus.
Mary: There are plenty of targeting with Goodies Maximus. So let me know what different workouts you use so that we can all be more fit in the New Year. Okay.
