How to Make a Kirigami Butterfly On behalf of TVLesson.com, my name is Sherie Tengbergen. I'm a professional artist with the WatercolorGourmet.com. In this clip I'm going to show you how to make this really cool Kirigami butterfly. We’re going to need two pieces of paper, a yellow and a black. First thing we’re going to do is fold the paper in half and I have to use a white pencil to trace around it so that I can see where my pattern is. And this is going to form the base of the butterfly. So I'm going to quickly cut that out and Kirigami means that it is a cutting and a folding process so we folded our paper and now we’re cutting it to form the base of our butterfly. So very quickly and very easily I just turn my paper and cut with my scissors to get out this shape. So now we have the back of our butterfly and now I’ve got to make out a yellow paper the front of our butterfly. I've already copy down the pattern so I'm going to go ahead and quickly cut that out just following the lines. Again, the paper has been folded in half so they get two different sides to the butterfly in one setting, one cutting here. I'm going to quickly cut this part out. And I've got to be a little bit careful with the antenna because they’re kind of thin. So I want to be careful that I don’t cut too much. I'm going to turn it around and cut that little filler out of there. Alright now, we’re ready to put it together. I'm going to take my glue stick. I'm going to put some glue on the base of my butterfly. I'm going to open up the yellow part and I'm going to lay it down on top here and then I like to take my black permanent marker and do some detail. I put some eyes on my butterfly, a little dark end on to its filler, a line to accent the wings real quickly, just following the shape that I cut. And the last thing just some stripes across his body and you have a Kirigami butterfly. On behalf of TVLesson.com, this is Sherie Tengbergen and thank you for watching.

A Butterfly

Consider life from a butterfly's perspective. Everything would be different for you. Only if we take the time to reflect on the stages of a butterfly's life would we realize that we go through similar stages throughout our own lives. More importantly, we must be thankful for the fact that we live much longer than the butterfly, thus we have more time to reflect and wonder why we were put on this earth....
