Male Speaker: Fashion, the final frontier. These are the voyages of the Thread Banger Enterprise to seek out and explore the DIY universe, to answer viewer questions like Pica, who asked us to do a Star Trek episode, and to boldly go where no DIYer has gone before.
Female Speaker: Captain! We have an incoming transmission. It appears to be Klingon.
Male Speaker: On screen! Computer, initiate translator!
Male Speaker: Captain Rob! It seems as if you have forgotten my birthday again. I recommend you getting me these edged dwarf glasses I found over on the humanoid site Craftser.
Male Speaker: Cool Yeah, whatever.
Male Speaker: Do it or I will.
Male Speaker: Say hi to the misses for me.
Female Speaker: Hey Captain! There is some really cool stuff on this Craftser site. Check out this John Luke Picard pendant, and this really cool crochet spock doll. Captain! Looks like we have another incoming transmission, from Suburbia Earth.
Male Speaker: Okay. For Halloween, my oldest boy is 12 and my younger boy is 7 and I am going to dress them up as Kirk and Spock from the original Star Trek, the old series. I would use some type of sweat shirt for only $10 and the orange one couldn't quite get the tan, but that's close enough and at night time for training, you barely will tell those color difference anyway. The emblem I had purchased, this woman shirt at the Dollar Store, this only cost me $4, but has shinny gold fabric. I am hoping to see that on the film well enough, but that will make a great emblem.
For phasers, I am simply bought flashlights and I also bought a woman's coat that's fully -- again at the Dollar Store and that only cost me 12 bucks and I am going to cut that out and make Tribbles out of that. Bought this file cabinet thing at the Dollar Store and a belt, and I am going to turn that into a triquarter. Okay, so I have cut the emblem out of the gold fabric, place it right on the shirt and then I hot glue gun the edges of it.
Male Speaker: Pretty sweet costumes, but who would want to be spocked for Halloween, huh?
Female Speaker: Captain! Really relax!
Male Speaker: It's just that everyone makes stuff in homage to him. Just look at this apron I find out, I cut out and keep -- what about me? Where is my homage apron?
Male Speaker: Captain, it seems as if you are having a wardrobe malfunction.
Male Speaker: Corinne Roddenberry.com has Starfleet uniform patterns. Can you order me a pants pattern, please, ASAP? Over here. Spock, is there something you need?
Male Speaker: Yes Captain, that is only logical. Have you seen these awesome edged Spock glasses over on Craftser?
Male Speaker: Captain! We were testing out the transporter and I accidentally beamed one of the red shirts down to the Klingon planet. He has been attacked by a targ.
Male Speaker: On screen. Scotty, beam me down. Hey red shirt! Where is your phaser?
Male Speaker: Well man, I got this one, but--
Male Speaker: But what?
Male Speaker: So I got the tutorial off of Instructables, but then I put it together and found out that it really didn't phase anything. But it's got this cool blue light on it though.
Male Speaker: Scotty! Want the beam up. It's been a long day.
Female Speaker: Oh Captain! One more thing, we just got an update that project Thread Banger's May challenges are inspired by the new Star Trek movie. Everyone should check out the form for official entry rules. Oh, and don't use that communicator. That guy in the red shirt, he made that from an Instructables tutorial. It doesn't work.
Male Speaker: Stardate is 05052009. There is always an opportunity for us to learn from our surroundings. I learned today that Spock is a jerk, and that people with red jump suits are destined to die, and that everyone should upload their videos to us at threabanger.com.
Female Speaker: Wow! I love your blush. It is so brozie. What is that?
Female Speaker: Well, high flash.
Female Speaker: Oh, it sounds edgy. Do they carry it here?
Female Speaker: Just wait 25 years.
Female Speaker: Why, is it a limited edition?
