How to Make White Chocolate Roses
Female 1: These are just pastry tips. You can get those at the kitchen store.
You can use a little cutter if you can find any. You can actually use
the lid of a milk jug if you buy the sort of gallons.
Female 2: Yeah.
Female 1: You can be creative. This is what you’re really looking for. It’s
that nice clean circle.
Female 2: It’s actually about the size of a quarter.
Female 1: It is.
Female 2: We have two sizes here. We have one that is a size of a quarter and
that’s about the size of maybe a nickel?
Female 1: Yeah.
Female 2: A little bit bigger.
Female 1: They kind of look bigger.
Female 2: Okay.
Female 1: And you’re just going to punch it out and if that happens to you,
that’s okay. You can use a toothpick to get that out of coming this
way because you got to flatten it out a little further anyway. That’s
all right.
I’ll show you a little trick. Also, you can use your hands if your
dough is in the right position. So, keep going, punch it. You need a
lot of them. You need a ton of them because you’re going to need a
lot of roses for a cake top or if you’re presenting a bouquet as a
gift.
You start your pick at any petal and you’re just going to roll it up
as tightly as you can.
Female 2: Can you tilt that towards the camera? I know that’s kind of hard.
Female 1: Yeah. And believe it or not, after that one little move, you got the
inside of the rose. So, you take the next petal and you tuck it in and
you just keep going.
Female 2: So, you’re just rolling?
Female 1: I'm just rolling.
Female 2: And just those various circular shapes stick to each other, you’re
sort pushing it a little.
Female 1: Yes. I’m pinching at the bottom.
Female 2: Pinching it a little.
Female 1: You can adjust it to where it looks good. You don’t have to go
underneath the one before I put that. It just tends to make it a little
more stable.
There you go. To me, that looks like about the size I want it.
Female 2: Wow.
Female 1: And then I just pinch it so that it's going to hold the shape. Then
you want to prop it up against something.
Female 2: Press it a little bit.
Female 1: Yeah, press a little bit. And if it's not sticking, you can use just a
little water.
Female 2: And just kind of leave it going out like that. And again, pressing
the side in, right?
Female 1: Yeah.
Female 2: I got to make sure it’s kind of wet. It sticks like glue.
Female 1: Yeah.
Female 2: And then you just kind of go around. Would you go with one
more?
Female 1: I would go with one more and start it a little lower.
Female 2: Lower.
Female 1: Yeah, because that gives you an opportunity to open them.
Female 2: Opening them and loosen it maybe a little bit.
Female 1: Yeah, they loosen as they go out which -- there, look at that!
Female 2: Wow!
And here we have it, a platter of white chocolate roses in pink and
white. I cannot believe we made it.
Female 1: It was easy, wasn’t it?
Female 2: You made it easy.
Female 1: Oh, you made it easy.
Female 2: Chocolate Bliss.
