How To Mix Beats: What is a Turntablist Battle

Alright folks, in this video I'll explain all about the DJ battle set

Alright folks, I have someone asked a question what is the DJ battle set. What is this all about? Okay now then when we talk about a set, where a DJ is concerned and nobody talk about a compilation of music they put together. By the way, the ten minutes, twenty minutes half an hour, sixty minutes or ninety minutes have set. Anyway, but difference is with the DJ battle set in certain part of the room what you have is your actually have DJ battling it out between each other. I think that’s the way the terminology of a battle set originated. Now, what happens is simply this you have two sets of ten tables opposite to each other quite often cried in the middle and you have one DJ doing his or set. That will maybe last for one or two minutes sometimes even thirty seconds. And then all of the sudden, the DJ will start and he will do his one or two minutes thirty seconds and then back to the other one etc. In the middle all over the crowd, in all around the crowd are watching, and basically what happen the crowd high put the DJ is. The crowd will always go for the DJ who is the best. That is where we get the terminology of the DJ battle set. Now the difference between the DJ battle set like I said earlier is supposed to a club DJ during his set. Club DJ say hello to a high set for sixty or ninety minutes. The DJ battle set what will do is now do a like I said thirty seconds, ten seconds, twenty seconds, a couple of minutes. So it is almost that DJ has not go three hour as to do as set. Where he can just slowly glide music from one to the other, this got quite often two records one two. And he is got to do some beat juggling and make music. Just for those two records. He has no time to play one record leave it all the way through playing the other one leave out all the way through battling said one end. Or he’s got it is about a minute or so to impress the crowd he has no time to measure and putting records on the front and send too he has got two records to mess around with. That’s it. Now what are you do I have got a couple to choose here. This is work sunshine to hear. It is the insolent illusion that of have a nice day and then we have here on extreme dance at the CLP version.
