How To Play Baseball: Whiffle Bat Drill - Part 2

Practice these drills with a whiffle bat so you can master your hitting game.

[Music Playing] What you have to do is work the technique. And we work our technique by swinging in the bat. This will whiffle of golf ball, is a great alternate way to get extra swing, you can get this at a discount store for $2.50 for a dozen. Get yourself a couple of dozen it is a very minimal investment for a whole lot of a game. The nice thing about the whiffle balls is I can throw strike everytime. If I want to work Ryan inside, I can pretty much get it there, because I am so close to him. I am only 15 to 20 feet. Outside I could get it there hi, low wherever he is weak at I can get it there and I can also bury it. So, we have a very well down time with regard to poor pitches. The second thing is, it is very small. So it is hard for Ryan to hit it, if he do not keep his head down and track the ball, he is not going to make contact. The third thing that is nice is about is does not go very far. Which means we do not have to chase 250 feet; it is only going 30 to 40 feet. We are going in to a run Ryan through some and get some repetition. I am going to suggest you take prior to your batting to a game situation batting that you take 15 to 25 cuts, if you want to take more than that, great. If it is an off day for you, or you are not taking a lot of cuts, you can come out in five minutes, you can get 50 cuts. And that is also a great by product. You can get a lot of swings in a short period of time. So it will take your about five, six, seven minutes to get in 50 swings. Okay, Ryan let us take a look here. I am working a little bit inside.
