How to Prepare Lids for Canning Hi! I’m Emerie from the Bernardin Test Kitchen. I’m here to give you a tip on how to prepare your sealing disk when canning. Many years ago, we still like canners to boil with the lids and what we discovered as you’re boiling a lid, it would scratch the enamel on the base of these lids. Now we’re indicating to our canners, just place the sealing disk in some hot water and then turn off the heat until you’re ready to use. For more recipes and ideas, just visit Bernardin.ca.
