Male: Hey what’s everyone, Robin here, welcome to thread heads. Female: So last week was fashion week here in the NYC and thread banger was there to get the skinny on this season’s ready to wear collections. (Music playing) Male: I like the ideas of having very stylish like very stylish looks and then looks like you can describe it day to day if you have to run to the market or do something. (Music playing) Male: All right, so it is really cool to see how the froze doing and see how the whole thing works, but honestly, you did not miss much except a bunch of black and craft load of fur. Female: I mean, when did it become cool to wear a fur again? (Music playing) Male: Back up tape. Could you see those people? They look like a pack of wild zebra’s. Female: Yes. So we felt kind about a place inside the tents, but we were right at home at New York official fashion week event. Male: And she keeps up pretty real and they are colorful and edgy, DIY style. (Background playing) (Music playing) Male: When we return, we get a fashion week lesson from panda head in working spray paint. Female: Stick around. (Commercial break) Female: What’s up thread banger! My name is Katie. I saw this other video that you guys did about the spray paint, I thought that was really cool and so I tried it out and I combined it with that strip shirt idea and I made one from my brother. You guys got me started in this whole DIY thing and you guys have me like sewing every thing out. You guys are manipulating minds. Male: All right, so last week, the sewthernbelle wrote in, “fashion week, rock on. Please tell me that you will do a tutorial on how to knock off designer designs. Well, if you have not been checking the thread banger BLOG on a regular basis, now is the time to start doing so. Female: Morgan Hungerford is one of our awesome guest contributors and our latest BLOG talks about the trends of last weeks fashion week and gives a quick tutorial on how to get that runaway look. Female: This is great little tube, but we want it to modify it to use old slacks. First, turn the pants inside out, pin the two layers together and cut out the long rectangle that is bigger at one end. If you are with the other leg, then sew a seam around the entire perimeter of each rectangle. Leave a small gap and turn them both right side out. So a top seam all the way around each rectangle and close up your gaps. Slightly overlap the two wider ends and pin. Now, make small piece like so all the way down to one side. Turn it to the other side and flip the second half making sure to fold both ends under. Sew them together and start to gap one end and stopping in the middle. Go with it, not against. Then the other half, the same way. Next, take out some elastic around your neck, under your arms connecting in the back, then to the middle of the elastic to the middle of the garment. What you are going to do is stretch the elastic as you saw it on so it will scratch out more. Start in the middle and work your way to one end. Repeat to the other half. Now, sew down both sides of the elastic, again, stretching as you saw. (Music playing) Female Then overlap the ends of the elastic and sew it together in a rectangular motion. Add a half hazard stitch in the middle and at the end and you are styling. You can wear it like nature intended or switch it up for more look. Male: For more post up for Morgan, make sure you keep checking right here on thread banger or her BLOG, pandahead.blogspot.com. Female: Next week, we enter a viewer transmission and give a DIY lesson in application. Male: You got anything cool, you have done with them? Send us some pix and some videos and we will put them on next week’s episode. Female: Until then, see you. (Music playing)
