Danny: The door problems around the house can really be aggravating but most of the time the solutions are very very simple. Joe: You’re right Danny and in this case particularly we have a stripped screw hole. In this hinge, I just can’t tighten this one screw because the hole is too big. So what I’m going to do is repair it by filling at the hole. Danny: What about using along the screw? Joe: You can use along the screw but in this case I’m trying to match the 0025 finish on the hinge so I want to us the same screw. And we’re going to do that by taking a wooden board just simple tape put a little glue on it I’m going to top it into the hole. I mean that does fill up the hole-- Danny: So it basically almost like starting over with the smooth surfaces. Joe: Yes, so just put that in there. We have to give a little tap just to fill up the hole. Go ahead and give it a tap because you want to split that board and then split it with the utility knife. Danny: Okay, so in order to break it all together? Joe: Yes, you should do it because again you don’t want to take the chance of either splitting that board or having the T break off with a ragged. Danny: Yes, right. Joe: So basically completely you filled the hole. Danny: That was great and you can use the original screws on it. Joe: Yes, let’s try it. Got it right there, I’ve seen people who did this with toothpicks but the problem toothpicks don’t fill the whole entirely. Danny: Joe, you just check unless you take care of this. Joe: You see how tight that is? It works perfectly fine, look at that board.
