How to Salt the Rim of a Glass

Find out the secrets to perfectly salting a glass and a few rim twists.

I’ve got these great ideas that will add flavor and flare to your drinks. It’s by decorating your glasses. It’s so easy. I'm going to start with my first glass. Take a little bit of lime. I’m going to run it all alone the rim. The idea is that we get it nice and coated like so and now we’re going to dip it into our course salt. You want to use course salt because it’s got more texture and once you put it in, the tip is not been twisted around. See, we’ve got enough but not too much, look at that how pretty. Next one take another glass. If you don’t want it to do the whole salt rim which is not everybody likes little detail. Take a lime, run it through your salt like so. All we do spread it right on the edge of the glass or we can do the sweet way by doing it with sugar and it’s easy. Start with some colored sugar that you can get in the baking isle of your grocery store. I'm doing the same thing with my rim and some lime getting it nice and wet but I did combine my red sugar with my white sugar, do exactly the same thing. Now I do is shake off the excess and I’m ready to pour my strawberry margarita that I already make. See it, life is all about the pretty details and it all comes in through the ice so the visual, its always important. Your friends are going to know you took the time to make it pretty for them. And needless to say, delicioso!
