There are many things to think about before you build your very own home theater like size, comfort and acoustics. The first thing to think about is where you’re going to put your home theater, it could be in almost any room in the home. Maybe not the kitchen. Let’s say you decide on the basement. This is what you need to know. First of all the dimensions of the room are crucial, never use a perfectly square room for a home theater because square rooms mean bad acoustics. Next, make seating a priority. It’s definitely something you want to splurge on within the room. Oversized chairs and plush leather chairs are always a plus but you can make the room even more exciting by installing chairs that come along with additional features as well. Also make sure you purchase a screen big enough to make you feel like you’re at the theater. Screen size is based on two things, your personal preference and the technical limitations of your projector. An ideal screen size for most rooms and projectors is about 72 inches wide. Once you have your basics down in your home theater finishing touches are the next thing to think about, adding things like curtains to the screen and a concession stand filled with snacks to keep your guests happy can take your entertainment room from simple to unforgettable.
