Hi! I am Mark Donovan from homeadditionplus.com. Today, I am going to show how to replace a ceiling light. We have shut the power off at the circuit breaker and so now, I am going to remove the bulb. And now we are going to remove the screws that are holding the ceramic light bulb fixture in. Now that I removed the bolts to the ceramic light bulb holder, I am now removing the screws that attach the wires to the contact locations on the ceramic bulb holder. So next, we are going to attach the mounting plate to the ceiling light outlet box. Next, we will start attaching the wires to the new ceiling light. First thing I have done is attach the braided copper wire to the solid copper wire coming out of the outlet box and then attach that to the green nut on the mounting assembly. I am just going to tighten this up. So now we have attached the two wires coming out of the ceiling light outlet box to the two wires on the ceiling light fixture. And now I am just twisting the wires on to the wires coming out the outlet box and then I am going to add some wire nuts. And then we are ready to mount the light fixture up into the ceiling. So now, I have attached the base of the light fixture to the lighting outlet box. I am just going to tighten up here with the two screws. And then we are ready to put the actual glass light fixture and the bulb and we will be done. So next, we will screw in the light bulb. Put the glass light fixture over it. Tighten up the three nuts and we will go turn the power back on at the circuit breaker and we will give that light a test. So we successfully replaced the ceiling light. It only takes us about 15 minutes. It is very easy to do so good luck with your ceiling light project. If you have any other improvement question, visit us at homeadditionplus.com today.
